Austria had the best song. In my opinion. The rightful winner.  :)

Also...I'm so proud of Softengine. They were never going to win. But the 11th they got was more than most Finns predicted. I did...I thought it would be a TOP 10 for Finland...but I'm quite happy with what we got.

I just heard the dutch song for the first time I quite like it.  It sounds very "Texas" for those who know that band
Now that you mentioned it...the Dutch entry did sound a bit like Texas. I liked it anyway. Or maybe just for that reason.

Portugal was robbed by San Marino FOR ONE POINT in the semis

12    San Marino   English   Valentina Monetta   "Maybe"   —   10   40
13    Portugal   Portuguese   Suzy   "Quero Ser Tua"   I want to be yours   11   39

this song was a shame.  And to know that it's due to a french singer it's even more shameful. Like France is the troll of Eurovision.

@Alex, it was because this is not a song contest, it is about neighbours voting for each other... (Image removed from quote.) (Image removed from quote.)
So...explain this: in the last 8 years 4 Nordic countries have won. And none of us have that many neighbours.

It's really not a problem. Usually the song that most of Europe likes wins. Or the most eccentric show. Or the combination of. As simple as that.

I agree on that, usually the "12 points" is reserved to the one special song of the year. Still you have to agree that most country vote for their neighbour or close ally.

Azerbaidjan will vote for Russia, and Russia will vote Azerbaidjan.
All the scandinavian country will give each other at least a few points.
Ex-Yougouslavia randomly start being united during Eurovision and they all give points to each other.
Same goes with Germany and Denmark. Italy and Albania + San Marino.
Even Italy and Spain usually give each other points.

It only starts to fail when it comes to western europe, there we all hate each other.

i'm over with people attacking Portugal because of that, especially because Spain was 4th by the public vote and 21st by the jury so I don't see what the problem is, trash the jury lol

CMW, actually Spain was 3rd. One more position, and we would give 1 point to Spain, lol.
