Big Brother 2014: Power Trip bosses are set to give one housemate access to Twitter as they line up various unexpected shocks for this year’s series, it is reported.

According to the Daily Star, chiefs are working on new, never-before-done ideas after growing tired of contestants second-guessing what twists and turns lie around the corner.

One of their plans apparently involves allowing the group to log on to social networking website Twitter, in what would be one of the biggest and most unprecedented breaches of Big Brother’s ‘no contact with the outside world’ rule to date.

If it comes to fruition, this would be the first time that a communication medium has been openly accessible within the BBUK house. The show’s format traditionally forbids phones, television, the internet and writing materials.

Other potential twists are said to include a second house and 6am evictions.

“We are looking at ways to surprise the housemates and keep them on their toes,” commented executive producer Denis O’Connor.

The news comes after presenter Emma Willis revealed that there will be ‘technology’ inside the new look house allowing its inhabitants to find out what the public think of them.

Fans have also complained online after it was claimed that producers will relax the outside contact rule this year whenever they “see fit”.

Big Brother 2014 begins on Thursday and Friday on Channel 5 with a two-part launch show.

Big Brother 2014: Davina McCall's no longer a fan! (but still watches Celeb version!)

Quote
However she still watches CBB..

Former Big Brother host Davina McCall has suggested she’s no longer a fan of the main show.

Davina fronted the iconic reality telly series for a decade on Channel 4, stepping down when the series moved to Channel 5 in the summer of 2011.

While Davina was always a huge BB nerd, it seems that she’s fallen out of love with the show since the channel switch and no longer watches, although she is still interested in the Celebrity version.

“I will definitely watch the Celebrity one, which I do like,” Davina said when asked if she’ll be watching the new BBUK series.

Speaking about the new Celebrity Big Bro run, Davina had her own dream line up of celebs that we can’t help but feel are a little too big for Channel 5′s budget.

“I want to have Vitoria and David Bekcham, Gordon Ramsay, Joey Essex would be brilliant and Adam Garcia for the ladies – a house like that would be great,” David said.

The Got To Dance host added: “We can always dream, can’t we!”

Meanwhile, Davina said she was happy to see Claudia Winkleman replacing Sir Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing this year, calling for more women on primetime telly.

She said: “I never thought they’d let two girls present it. I’m so pleased the BBC has one this brave and wonderful thing – I know they do it already, but I think its fantastic.”

Which to me sucks because the CBB lasts less than a month :-[ :'(
They're stupid not to renew their contract for Big Brother as at least the contestants (anonymous) aren't paid. In comparaison to the celebrities they pay them like 1£/day lol.

housemates are paid either are celebrities or not

non celebrities get a lot less, celebrities depend on who they are, judging by C5 series they look pretty cheap lol

Lol. But it's still money used on celebrities  :-\ That's why it'd be better to have a Big Brother with non celebrities. (although the celebrities give more audience than the anonymous)
