Both Norwegian and Swedish HMs will definitely stay in the same house. Also they have the same logo and picture posted on their separate FB-walls. And the news speaks of only one winner, so I guess that would mean they're not competing against the other country. But I guess there's no real hurry yet to merge the threads.

Lost a planet Master Obi Wan has. How embarrassing.

I did it anyway, as after reading the press release there's no doubt about this season being joint

And the article that Markus posted says that Pia Lykke will co-host Big Brother 2014 with swedish Adam Alsing, Sunday 31th August. Then it says: both norwegian and swedish will fight this time for 1 million dollars.
And of course the prize is 1 million crowns...which at the current rates is about 160 000 USD (or about 119 500 EUR) in Norway and about 145 000 USD (about 108 000 EUR) in Sweden.

There are big differences, yes. But they also have quite big differences in overall level of salary and expense of living. Which are both higher in Norway.

Most likely like the previous editions : each host use his language and is subtitled for those who might need it and housemates speak either Swedish/Norwegian conveniently or English if there really is a misunderstanding (rarely happens)

Yeah. Norwegian and Swedish as languages are quite close to each others. There are only some differences in vocabulary. Mostly the differences are how they write and pronounce words. But of course also both have words, that don't even exist in the other one. In everyday use.

That's, what I've been told anyway. And as I understand Swedish quite a bit, I do understand some Norwegian too. Written much better than spoken.

They'll not do individual seasons lol. They'll do a joint season only.

To make this thing more confusing, the launch starts 30 minutes later in Norway.

I thought it could mean they first introduce the Swedish housemates but then it wouldn't make sense... Maybe Sweden has a pre-show?

Anyway they best get their shit together

You're probably right. I checked the TV listings in both countries, and the launch is 90 minutes in both. So that would mean there's no pre-show in Sweden. In both countries they list it as their own though, but in Norway they also mention Norwegian and Swedish competing in the same house.
