It also manipulates the viewers, if the viewers see that their favorite is in danger, they will vote more...And the top vote getter, their supporters may vote less because they know their fave is on top ::)

I agree, they should do it like X Factor UK! ;D

live show 5:

the theme was Latest and Greatest

Marlisa Punzalan - "Let It Go" by Idina Menzel
Brothers3 - "Pompeii" by Bastille
Tee -  "Hold On, We're Going Home" by Drake feat. Majid Jordan
Sydnee Carter - "Strong" by London Grammar
Rochelle Pitt - "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele
Jason Heerah - "She Came to Give It to You" by Usher feat. Nicki Minaj
Dean Ray - "Budapest" by George Ezra
Caitlyn Shadbolt - "You and I" by Lady Gaga
Reigan Derry - "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj

where the highlight was Rochelle destroying Rolling in the deep

Rochelle Pitt: Rolling In The Deep - Live Show 5 - The X Factor Australia 2014

although Caitlyn did one of the worst performances too

Live Decider:

the group performance was Jump (for My Love" by The Pointer Sisters, then musical guest Hilary Duff sang "All About You" and Ariana Grande performed "Problem / Bang Bang / Break Free" in which obviously I had mute for 8 minutes

the ranking of the votes was:

1. Brothers3
2. Dean Ray
3. Reigan Derry
4. Rochelle Pitt (LOL)
5. Marlisa Punzalan
6. Caitlyn Shadbolt
7. Tee

so JASON HEERAH and SYDNEE CARTER received the least votes and are up for eviction

Sydnee Carter - "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men
Jason Heerah - "Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye

Votes:

Redfoo: Sydnee
Ronan: Jason
Natalie: Sydnee
Dannii: Sydnee

SYDNEE CARTER is the fifth act to be eliminated from the show

They did that on one season of the US version - it was interesting to a point but ultimately unnecessary.

Weeks late to ask this question but looking through the recaps here I take it Australia haven't taken on the Six Chair Challenge aspect of the format.   I know Seven milked the Wildcard thing for ages as something much bigger than it actually is.

Live Show 6:

the theme was Rock

Dean Ray - "New Sensation" by INXS
Rochelle Pitt - "Heavy Cross" by Gossip
Tee - "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen
Marlisa Punzalan -"Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica
Reigan Derry - "Boys in Town" by Divinyls
Caitlyn Shadbolt - "Closer to the Edge" by Thirty Seconds to Mars
Jason Heerah - "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes
Brothers3 - "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" by Coldplay

Live decider:

Nathaniel Willemse from X Factor 2012 sang his new song "Live Louder" and Meghan Trainor <3 sang "All About That Bass"

the group performance was "Maps" by Maroon 5

CAITLYN SHABDOLT and ROCHELLE PITT received the least votes and therefore are up for elimination

Caitlyn Shadbolt - "Before the Worst" by The Script
Rochelle Pitt - "Respect" by Aretha Franklin

as Natalie Baishduyhuergthusyhd was absent for unknown reasons the rules changed, if the three jurors did not arrived to an unanimous decision, the one with the least votes from the public will leave

Votes:

Redfoo: Caitlyn Shadbolt
Ronan Keating: Rochelle Pitt

Dannii Minogue was not required to vote since Redfoo and Ronan voted differently

ROCHELLE PITT received the least votes and therefore is the 6th act to be eliminated from the show

For the first time in the show's history, and only for this week, the final showdown in the live decider will consist of a bottom three.

Live Show 7:

The theme was Judge's Challenge

judges chose songs for other contestants they don't mentor

Ronan Keating chose songs for Brothers3 and Tee
Redfoo chose songs for Marlisa Punzalan
Natalie Basssinghtwaighte chose songs for Reigan Derry and Caitlyn Shadbolt
Dannii Minogue chose songs for Jason Heerah

Brothers3 - "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" by The Proclaimers
Marlisa Punzalan - "Try" by Pink
Reigan Derry "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine
Tee - "When Doves Cry" by Prince
Caitlyn Shadbolt - "Still Into You" by Paramore
Dean Ray - "Stolen Dance" by Milky Chance
Jason Heerah - "Latch" by Disclosure feat. Sam Smith

Live Decider:

the group performance was "Best Days of My Life" by American Authors, they sang it with that band too, later they also sang "Believer" and Ricki-Lee Coulter sang "Happy Ever After"

this time it was a Bottom3, but only one will be evicted (which is quite stupid

CAITLYN SHADBOLT, JASON HEERAH and TEE received the least votes and therefore are up for eviction

Caitlyn Shadbolt - "Temporary Home" by Carrie Underwood
Jason Heerah - "We Can Work It Out" by Stevie Wonder
Tee - "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker

Votes:

Ronan Keating: Tee
Natalie Bassinnghtaighterwjrpoie: Caitlyn Shadbolt
Dannii Minogue: Caitlyn Shadbolt
Redfoo: Tee

there was a tie between Caitlyn and Tee so they went to deadlock

TEE received the least votes and therefore is the 7th act to be eliminated from the show

Seems rather pointless then to have a bottom 3.  I assumed it would be a double elimination considering they had the extra wildcard contestant.

and it's obvious Caitlyn and Jason will be bottom2 now and Caitlyn will go 3-1 since Natalie and Dannii prefer him to Caitly and Redfoo will save him for being from his team lol

the musical guests where The Veronicas who sang "You Ruin Me" and Ed Sheeran who sang "Thinking Out Loud" and "Don't"

Semifinal 1:

they had to sing two songs, the theme were Killer Tracks and Curveballs

Dean Ray - "Lonely Boy" by The Black Keys / "Crying" by Roy Orbison
Marlisa Punzalan - "Titanium" by David Guetta feat. Sia / "Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland
Reigan Derry - "Creep" by Radiohead / "Only Girl (In the World) by Rihanna
Brothers 3 - "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel / "Que Sera" by Justice Crew
Caitlyn Shadbolt - "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood / "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles

Dannii Minogue had one of the most pathetic behaviours I've ever seen, you can't accuse Reigan of over-sexualitzation when you dress like a 60 year-old prostitute every week, she didn't even judged Reigan's performance just talked about her interviews of MONTHS ago lol this woman is amazing, I hope now Caitlyn survives and Brothers 3 end up being evicted cuz they sucked and to see Dannii's face

More controversy occurred after Reigan Derry's performance of Radiohead's "Creep" during the ninth live show, when Minogue criticised Derry's outfit for being too oversexualised.[61] Derry, who used to be a member of the girl band Scarlett Belle, had stated in her audition for The X Factor that she felt people did not get to see the real her because of how oversexualised the band was.[62] Minogue told her: "I watched again your first audition and I listened to every word you said. You know, oversexualised and you just wanted to sing the song and you just wanted everybody to listen to your voice. In the close-ups of this outfit, if you don't want to be oversexualised...I'm getting mixed messages."[61] Derry's mentor Redfoo defended her outfit by saying that it was not oversexualised, before taking aim at Minogue's outfit.[61] He said, "Look what you're wearing! You want to talk about oversexualised, look what you're wearing! Let's get real. Let's get really real. This is see through!"[63]

kkkkk
