Week 12 - Awards Show

BB had the house-mates voting their choice for best of, in about 20 categories... from most attractive, to most truthful, to best team-player, the laziest, etc,

On Saturday, Dec 25, they had an Awards Show with the winners getting awards. The whole thing was too long... but the party later was a bit fun, they loosened up a bit and had some booze too.

Week 12 - Weekly Task

They had to learn a song and perform it live in front of the studio audience. Their voices are between the sound of suffering donkeys and cows with constipation ;D  The best sounding/dancing was Mihalis, but the rest put a lot of effort into it, and with the help of a professional music producer during the week, they ended up sounding not painfully bad.

They didn't show Elias' and Antonis' songs. They tried hard, but probably didn't sound too good :)

The house mates were rating every performance. Mihalis got the most votes and got the "favor" for that week which I missed, and Giannis got the fewer votes and got the "punishment", which was to make the bed for every house mate for one week. BB should have asked him to mop the floor because Giannis is adamant about not picking up a broom or a mop because that's not a job for men :)

I can't find anything on the Alpha TV site.  Maybe Prison_Break knows?

Week 13 - Saturday night New Year's eve party

BB threw them a party with a live band and family members visited the studio or called, etc. Very emotional night.  The girl with Giannis is one of his two sisters.

Week 13 - Eviction

Next out... Mihalis.

Mihalis and Alexis were the two nominees, both of them were evicted previously and returned in the house.  Most house mates nominated them because they didn't like the whole back-in-the-house situation.

Stella has been nominating Mihalis repeatedly, even though they've been having heart to heart talks in the house about many issues about backstabbing and other house mates' behavior, even though she told him too she wanted to correct her initial mistakes of nominating Mihalis, etc.

During the live show, right after the eviction, Roula is grilling Stella about her accusing others about being two-faced and her nominating Mihalis over and over again and about being influenced by other house mates (Giorgos).

This is the type of hard hitting interview a presenter would do when a house mate is evicted, not when they're still in the game! They're showing Stella tons of video clips that are affecting her play, whatever that play is.

I personally don't have a problem with questions like these, but Roula doesn't know how to ask questions so that she does not influence the house mates and give them cause to change their behavior.

Week 13 -- Who's your Brother!

Mihalis lives in Cyprus and has a brother and a sister. His brother was at the live show for week 13.

Spitting image!

[attachment=1][attachment=2]

When Mihalis was evicted he got on Facebook and got a message from his half sister that he had never met before! Mihalis met his father when Mihalis was 18 years old, and his father told him he had a half sister and a half brother who were living in mainland Greece (Cyprus is an island).  Mihalis never actively looked for them, and after getting the message from his half sister, he met her a few days later after his eviction.

So Mihalis has a half-brother that he never met.

During the live show,  Roula is asking him about his half brother and eventually reveals that he is in the audience and asks Mihalis if he can spot him just based on instinct.

Mihalis finds him in the crowd... and they meet for the first time :)

The last shot is Mihalis and his two brothers.  :'( :) ;D

Oh no... Giorgos is in love with Stella... it took me a while to figure it out.

He pretended to like Evelina and told Stella a few weeks ago that he was in love with Evelina but immediately after that he said he was kidding.

His intense effort to make Stella aware that Alexis is not worthy of her attention in the past few weeks has only one reason... he likes her and he's frustrated he can't get her attention like Alexis or even Mihalis have.

Poor Giorgos.

Week 14 -- Giorgos left the house.

The conflict between Giorgos against Stella and Alexis caused a blow up after the live show, resulting in Giorgos leaving the house. Roula showed Stella a couple of videos of her talking with Giorgos about Alexis, with Giorgos' main point that Alexis is playing her and leading her on and that she should not fall prey to his game.

There are some videos missing on the official site of the Monday after the eviction, so I missed one of the serious arguments that Stella was referring to later. She was accusing Giorgos of manipulating her regarding Alexis and that her relationship with Alexis is not his concern. Evelina started arguments with Giorgos too, accusing him of teaming up with Giannis and voting against Evelina together so they can break up Evelina and Nara. Evelina's behavior in the house is now the complete opposite of the quiet, sensitive girl she was in the first weeks.

Giorgos became very frustrated, seeing that all his efforts with Stella went to waste and she fell back under the influence of Alexis, who is now taking up the role of the Master of the House after Giorgos left, something that he did in the beginning of the season and irritated a lot of house mates.

Week 14 -- Giannis vs Evelina

A day after Giorgos left the house, Giannis and Evelina had a serious fight that almost resulted in a physical altercation.

Gannis called Evelina to the bedroom for a chat, and told her that he did not like the disrespect Evelina showed Giorgos when he left. He said Giorgos was very sad for a week after Evelina's walk-out, and he deserved more than a cold hug good bye, given the support Giorgos gave to Evelina in the house.

Earlier in the day Evelina found one of Giorgos' jackets on top of the cabinets in the bathroom, one that BB had given them. The jacket was dirty and she and Stella threw the jacket in the garbage. For the past couple of days Evelina had changed a lot, being very snappy and saying little bitchy and sarcastic comments against Giorgos and Giannis, something that did not go unnoticed.

When Giannis told her Giorgos deserved more respect, Evelina accused Giorgos of teaming up with Giannis to evict her and Nara a few weeks ago. Giannis' fuse started to go off with that comment.

Evelina started crying and they both started yelling to each other, although Evelina seemed to me she started being hysterical about what Giannis was telling her and escalated the shouting.

So now Alexis walks in to investigate, and being the Leader of the House for the week, he had taken it upon himself to be the Master of Ceremonies for anything that happens in the house. Evelina walks out of the bedroom and the argument continues in the kitchen among the other house mates. Evelina keeps screaming in defense of Giannis' criticism, and at some point Giannis loses it and starts shouting too, telling her about all her sarcastic comments she has been saying the past couple of days.

One or two house mates held back Evelina who was about to hit Giannis. To his credit, he showed a lot of composure, didn't make any gesture against her, just asked the hms to take her away. Alexis tried to mediate somewhat, but Giannis shut him down quickly.

Week 14 -- Giannis vs Stella

Giannis and Stella are both from Crete and given the loyalty to their homeland that Cretans have, they are almost consider themselves family.

After the big fight with Giannis and Evelina, Stella and Giannis had a chat about a couple of issues that came up lately. Stella had accused Giorgos of manipulating her against Alexis, which was due to Stella watching a video of herself and Giorgos during the previous live show. That accusation was probably the biggest factor that made Giorgos leave the house -- he took it as an insult against his integrity that he may have caused Stella's losing it and having a breakdown after Alexis was evicted a few weeks ago. The night before Giorgos left, Stella brought up the accusation again in front of everyone, and also accused Giorgos of manipulating Giannis and his votes, something that Giannis did not like hearing at all.

During the conversation in the bedroom Giannis brings up this issue and Stella repeats how the video she watched was so clear as to Giorgos' intentions to manipulate everyone. Giannis tells her that Giorgos always tried to comfort and support her when she was feeling low after watching Alexis flirting with Christina from the first to the last day Christina was in the house. At some point they start yelling at each other a bit and guess who walks in the bedroom... who else other than Alexis, who is refusing to leave the room so they can continue their chat.

The argument continues in the kitchen but Giannis leaves them to go for a smoke. Alexis is trying so hard to be in the middle of this argument too and he starts his own argument with Stella who is getting a bit annoyed with his constant meddling in her affairs.

Week 13 -- Giannis and Fotini

Fotini is Giannis' girlfriend of 4.5 years (he is 22 I think). They brought her in for the live show a couple of times and she's very shy, doesn't say much and she seemed reluctant to be in the studio at all at first.

Giannis has been talking about her a lot in the house. As the days went by and he started missing his family, and after the very emotional day when he watched his father and two sisters on the diary room TV, he has been saying that he loves her a lot and that he'll marry her when he gets out. He refers to her as "woman", still a very traditional way of calling wives or fiancees in Crete and in the rest of rural Greece. She seems like a very nice girl, and during an interview on the Week 14 live show, she sounded mature regarding her relationship with Giannis and whether Giannis' overly loving comments in the show about her were to be considered as it was real life.

During the live show on Week 13 Giannis was called to the diary room and was asked to go to a special room and wait. At this point, the standard BB rule of house mates not having contact with outsiders is out the window with this season. They brought in Antonis' girlfriend a couple of weeks ago too, and although they asked her to stay behind a window, she just opened a door and walked in the special room that Antonis was in. Same thing with Fotini.

During their meeting Giannis is telling her how much he missed her and that he thinks of her all the time and that he can't live without her. Before he leaves the room, Roula comes on the tv screen and Giannis says as soon as he gets out he'll ask her family for her marriage.

He says:  "If I leave here soon or I stay till the end, tell her family to wait for me outside, because as soon as I get out, I'm taking her away from them. ... Her family knows me and they love me, they know my family, they know who I am and what I do, so I ask for her right now, tonight!".

He then tells her the first person he wants to see when he leaves is her.

He is describing the visit to the other house mates.

Week 14 -- Weekly Task

They had to put together a Jeep!  A couple of mechanics took it apart while the house mates were watching, they left the main frame and body and stripped everything from it, all electrical, the clutch, wheel, brakes, etc, and the house-mates had a week to put it all back, and during the live show Alexis had to start it up, and drive back and forth along the length of the arena.

During the task, the two girls, Stella and Evelina, did minor things to help out so they had a lot of time doing nothing. They were playing around having fun, renting the tools to the guys, etc, helping to pass the time. Alexis, the control freak, was pissed off with the girls laughing because he said he can't concentrate and complete the task. Stella yelled back at him telling him he has no authority to tell anyone not to have fun in the house. Later in the bathroom Alexis told Stella to "go f*ck herself"... a very insulting curse. Stella was pissed but forgave him later.

Alexis had 2 minutes to drive for the task, but because of a production f*ck up he didn't hear BB saying the time limit and it took him to long to start up the car. They lost the task because of it.

Week 14 -- Live Show

That was a circus...

The production has made too many mistakes in terms of violating standard Big Brother rules. In addition to letting house mates meet their girlfriends and family members in the studio while the game is going on, not to mention letting 3 evicted house mates go back in, they also allow them see the videos they show to the tv audience during the live show. I think they've done similar things in other European or Latin American Big Brother shows, but as far as the UK, AU and US shows are concerned, these things are unthinkable.

The live show at the end of Week 14 was too weird. They had Giorgos, who walked out earlier in the week, which was expected. They also brought in Giannis L. and Valentina, the couple that went in the house with a secret mission not to reveal they are a couple. They also had Giorgos' father and asked him about personal family issues, something that was very crude and inappropriate for a Big Brother show.

Evelina got a royal trashing for the big fight she had with Giannis. Nothing she would say was right... it was all her fault, apparently. When Roula interviewed Giannis later, it was like talking to the Golden Child. I find fault with Evelina's behavior for the fight, but the interviews on the live show were atrocious.

While Roula was interviewing Giorgos and was showing him videos from the house, Giannis F. was in the DR and watching everything! Later on, Roula was asking Giorgos about Alexis, and Alexis was in the DR watching the whole thing, in addition to more video clips from the house! WTF?

At the start of the show Roula said nothing will be the same after the end of that show. Nothing strange happened other than the weird situations I mentioned. The next two nominated were Evelina and Antonis, and Alexis as the Leader of the House refused to give immunity to either of them so he is nominated also. If he had given immunity to either Evelina or Antonis, both Alexis and Stella would be nominated as the next two with the most votes, so, without him knowing, he kept Stella out of nominations.

Giorgos didn't say he regretted his leaving, but I bet he will admit to it later. He said he had a lot of support from people from Crete with letters, phone calls, etc, as well as from Giannis' family.

To top it all off, after repeated questions from Roula, Giorgos told her the reason he left was because Stella watched a video in the DR the week before, and Stella accused him later that it was Giorgos that was trying to manipulate Stella about Alexis. Roula sounded a bit apprehensive considering the possibility that she was the reason a house mate left the house -- which is true! -- and tried to avoid the responsibility. Later in the show she says she thinks letting evicted house mates back was a big mistake!!  :o  What do you think it is when you show house mates video clips of what happened in the house, you moron!  :o

Week 15 -- Weekly Task

Each house mate had to learn a dance they would have to do during the live show and they all had professional dancers as partners and there was also a dance coach who worked with them all week. The results were quite good. Unfortunately one of the video segments of the live show is not available on the official site and I didn't get to see the dances with Giannis and Stella. Stella was doing a Latin style of dance and she was pretty good! The pics with Giannis and Stella here are from their rehearsals.

They passed the task, of course, and the dance instructor challenged Big Brother to learn a dance himself and show them if he can do as well as the house mates. BB declined the offer and replied with a popular line: "Tough men don't dance!" :)

Later, Michalis and Nara came on the live show and did a dance number too. Not bad at all.

Week 15 -- Eviction, New Leader, Nominations

The previous Sunday, Alexis was the House Leader and had to give immunity to one of the nominated hms, Antonis or Evelina.  He refused to do it and he was nominated himself as punishment.

Too many hms are refusing to nominate, give immunity, etc. BB should have threatened them with eviction but I bet the production did not expect this.

And for the second time, Alexis is evicted. His mother is in the audience and is socked! There were no percentages of the vote, they haven't shown them in any eviction.

Roula, the presenter, is trying to drill him again about his relationship with Stella. He is still a bit reluctant to say he loves her although Stella considers the relationship to be very serious.  I bet he dumped her the minute she got out of the house.

There's a change in voting this week. First they vote for House Leader, and the Leader can give immunity to one of the rest, before they vote for nominations. Elias was voted Leader and gave immunity to Evelina.

During the week Elias told Giannis he would never vote for him and told Evelina he voted for her and Michalis to come back and he wouldn't vote for her either. That caused a punishment from BB -- he lost his nomination vote.

The nomination vote was not secret again. I don't know why they're doing this. It's so easy for a hm to change their vote depending on who the others are voting for. Stella refused to nominate because as she says her parents didn't raise her to be a bad person (!) and was nominated herself as punishment. Giannis wanted to nominate Stella but BB told him he can't because she was nominated already, so Giannis refused to nominate too. With Evelina immune and Elias losing his vote, the final result was Giannis and Stella nominated!  I think that took them by surprise. The two biggest characters in the house are against each other.

Evelina nominated Giannis because as she said he stopped talking to her after their big fight the previous week. Giannis didn't like this and said it was her that stopped talking to him and that all she was telling him after the fight were lies and hypocrisies. He started telling her that during the live show. Also in the DR Giannis said he wanted to nominate Stella, and when he got out Stella told him that they would have their chat the next day. Another conflict is brewing.

Antonis got another surprise from his girlfriend... Antonis wanted to move to Athens and his girlfriend rented an apartment in Athens for them and they did a live stream from the apartment with a bunch of Antonis' friends in it.

At the end of the show BB started a funny conversation with the tree in the yard. The tree was talking to some house mates during the show and gave them silly tasks, like the one on BBUK.  BB asked the tree to go to the DR and the tree said he's not going to uproot himself and go in the house. :)

Week 16 - Giannis blames Stella

Giannis openly blames Stella for Giorgos leaving the house.

Giannis and Giorgos have been part of the biggest bromance (brother romance :)  ) I've ever seen on a BB show. They consider themselves brothers and the walking-out of Giorgos was a very emotional experience for him and Giannis.

Giannis and Stella are both from Crete and treat each other as family because the loyalty of the motherland is very strong for Cretans. There's nothing they can do to each other to cause them to dislike each other, except the most extreme things people can do, like ... murder :)

That stupid, idiotic, moronic thing that they did and BB production showed Stella a video of her and Giorgos talking, with Giorgos telling her that Alexis is leading her on and he's not serious, was the reason Stella started arguing with Giorgos accusing him he's a manipulator, and the reason Giorgos took that as an insult and left the house. Giannis now is telling Stella she was the reason Giorgos left and her accusations were baseless --  Stella accused Giannis that he was both being manipulated by Giorgos and manipulating her too!

For a while there you could cut the tension in the house with a knife. Elias, a House Leader again this week, told Giannis that when Giorgos left Stella said a couple of very cold-hearted comments like " I don't care if he goes", etc.  Giannis was smoldering with anger after he heard this.

Giannis was talking to himself outside on the yard, saying he can't stand hypocrisy and then he seemed like he wanted to go. The others stopped him outside the DR and tried to have a conversation. Nothing very serious happened... we didn't see what he said in the DR.... Later in the day Giannis and Stella hugged and the contention seemed to be over... for now. :)

Week 16 --  Giannis leaves the house!??

After the argument with Stella and telling her she's the reason Giorgos left, Giannis actually walked out of the house!

This is a first for BB -- as far as I know.

Production got him back in, it's unthinkable that they would let him go like that.

The funny thing is that BB told them that Giannis got out and he was returned back by the production, and that the housemates would vote to evict Giannis if they wanted, because he breached the BB rules. Even if just one of the remaining four house mates voted for Giannis to go, he would be evicted. If he stayed, he would be penalized with € 20,000 if he was a winner. ;)

Everyone voted for him to stay, of course, even Evelina. What a surprise ;D

Week 16 - Last Weekly Task

It's the last weekly task with the last 5 remaining house mates before the 5th is evicted and the final four go to the final show.

The task is called "Survival" and they have to survive a crash landing, living in the arena for at least 48 hours, but if they go back in the house after 48 hours BB will deduct € 4,000 per house mate that returns before Saturday.

They have tents, cans of food, fire wood, a bicycle and a generator, a tent that serves as the House Leader room and the DR, and a radio they can use to talk to BB.

All house mates enjoyed this task a lot, except maybe Evelina who was feeling cold all the time and didn't like the outdoors. Elias kept his feet too close to the fire one evening and burned his shoes... something everyone else found very funny and teased him about.

No conflicts this week... they are all too timid and calm and civilized, especially since they all voted for Giannis to stay in the house after he attempted to leave and BB asked the house mates if he should be evicted as punishment.

Week 16 - Last Eviction

Last eviction before the final.. Next out is... Stella. She lost the challenge against Giannis.

She was very happy and care-free about the eviction, she didn't seemed worried at all. Her BB boyfriend and house mate Alexis was in the car that drove her to the studio, with flowers and champagne.

The interview with Roula went smoothly, no challenging questions, she was handled with a glove, nothing like the grilling others got by Roula. Stella would have made the final if Evelina didn't have immunity from Elias. There's no way Giannis would have been voted out, whoever the other nominated house mate was.

Week 16 - Extra Task

BB decided to repeat the "Ignore" task and it started on Sunday, after the eviction.

At first, Paul, the show's co-presenter, entered the house and pretended he was a victim of the crash landing and was calling for help, etc. Nobody moved or paid any attention to him.

Later on, Giannis' father and Elias' sister walk in the house!  :o :D  Given the love Giannis has for his family and especially for his father, it was amazing he managed to stay put for a few minutes... until he broke down and hugged him like he hadn't seen him for years. It took Elias a few minutes to realize his sister was in the house even though he was a few steps away from her in the kitchen.

Elias and Giannis were fined € 2,000 each for losing the task - money to be deducted if they win the BB prize, which was originally € 200,000, and I think at that poing it was down to € 195,000 or something like that.

The two family members stayed only a few minutes and didn't say anything to the house mates. Antonis and Evelina are expecting something similar from BB in his attempt to break them down and take back a few more thousand € from them too.  :)

From a vague and not too specific blurb on a TV news site, posted on February 17, 2011

http://tvnea.blogspot.com/2011/02/big-brother_17.html

The title says:
Menegaki on the new Big Brother next year?

Menegaki is the name of the woman in the picture who is now on another morning TV show.

The blurb says:

Big Brother will return on our TV screens in October. What is also returning is the scenario that wants Eleni Menegaki to leave her usual morning work and to move to the evening time zone.

The Germans [ed: reference to the German company owning the BB TV station] seem determined this time, if they don't see the numbers  of the morning show going up, and Eleni finish third in the general ratings, she'll have to move to the evening hours.

She doesn't want this change at all and she hopes things change until the end of the season and hopes she will see viewership return to her show.

I'm setting up my alarm for October so I don't miss the show again like season 5 that just ended. ;D

I assume there's not much chance for them to offer 24/7 feeds and especially outside Greece or Europe. I don't know why so many BB Production ppl have this concrete block in their brains and they don't allow other countries to watch and pay for the feeds. I don't understand this. Neither UK or DE allows feeds subscription outside their countries and that's just stupid.

Sorry for the delay in posting about the final show... I'm still not finished watching it :D

The reason are special laws in both countries, really simple.
