A planning application has been made for some major changes to the Big Brother compound which include a second, two-storey house and a new eviction studio.

The proposed changes can be seen here:
http://www6.hertsmere.gov.uk/online-applications/files/C7E4AC534920372FDD146C077BD9BEF5/pdf/16_0064_FUL-DR.NO.7_PROPOSED_BB_KEY_PLAN_13-01-16-436309.pdf

And when the PDF loads it reveals more than perhaps Endemol wished too:

Current house (plus new garden in colour, evictin studio bottom right)

New house (in grey) and outdoor eviction set (new studio is to the right):

The first Celebrity Big Brother twist has been revealed

Big Brother has something huge planned for the new series starting in May.
According to Celebsnow.co.uk BB and CBB are about to be mashed together to create a super BB where celebs and common folk live together as one.
The house is allegedly due to be split in two with ‘regular’ housemates in one half and famous faces in the other, although no doubt they’ll convene at points, probably during outrageous tasks.

An insider told Now: ‘We’re planning on really mixing up the regular series this time by chucking in a load of celebs too and splitting the house up. The producers have been approaching people from Gogglebox, TOWIE and Ex On The Beach and have some great names lined up.’
The source added that the idea has brought up the question of pay, as obviously regular contestants don’t get a penny while some celebs get enough to buy a small two bedroom house.
So far the rumoured lineup is proving pretty crazy, with Gogglebox stars Stephen and Chris, Union J’s Jaymi Hensley, the guy who took a selfie with a plane EgyptAir hijacker, and road rager Ronnie Pickering all in the running to join the new series.

......It is like BB6 Philippines last year (2 editions in 1 season) or BB5 Philippines (All In edition)....its just that Regulars with celebrities competing in one house

Oh fuck, it's two halves. Please don't let this rumour about regular people and z-lebrities living together be true. :bang

There is no date set for the launch just yet.

I was thinking of the phrase "everything is not always black & white".

I know it is not going to be a twist with two houses, one with White people, the other with Black people.  ;D ;D ;D

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/big-brother-2016-eye-revealed-7991626

Channel 5 has released the first look at this year's Big Brother .

The new eye is a split version that gives a hint that the show will be merged with its more famous sister show, Celebrity Big Brother , with the bold colours striking through the eye.

It was previously reported that Celebrity Big Brother and the civilian version of the show could be coming together this summer to create a MEGASHOW – with celebrities and normal folk all living under one roof.

An insider from the show told Now magazine: “We’re planning on really mixing up the regular series this time by chucking in a load of celebs too and splitting the house up.

“The producers have been approaching people from Gogglebox , TOWIE and Ex On The Beach and have some great names lined up.”

The show’s producers are always fans of a shake up and a twist to keep viewers watching, but this reported idea is certainly different.

Now claims that civilians and celebs would live in different areas of the house – and come together in a communal area.

Because those celebrities could NEVER slum it with the normals.

Though how we’d tell the difference between the normal fame-hungry contestants and some of the celebrity Z listers is anyone’s guess.

The reported plans might cause issues with pay, though – as celebrities get huge fees to appear , whereas your average Joe doesn’t get paid to be on the show.

We can’t wait to find out if this will happen.

A Big Brother rep told us: “We don’t comment on rumour or speculation.”

It's been confirmed today the series will begin week commencing 4th June - so probably the 9th or the 10th based on previous seasons.  It had been expected to be delayed a few more weeks due to the building work (new additional house, new studio) and Emma's pregnancy (she gave birth on May 4th), but seems now it'll launch at about the same time as most recent series.

A press release has been issued highlighting what they'll be passing producer interference off as this year and confirming the house design:
Quote
Big Brother is back with an unpredictable new series.  From Day One the Housemates will be under attack from an unseen ominous dark force that will have a dramatic and divisive effect on the House.  Join Emma Willis live on launch night as the Housemates enter the unknown.  Whilst things may appear to be straight forward Big Brother will ensure that no-one will have the entire picture.  There may even be deeper connections at work?  The Housemates are not alone and they should be prepared for paranoia and suspicion.

The Big Brother House has been transformed into a slick, stark monochrome world.  Whilst everything may appear to be black and white – that certainly won’t be the case.  Viewers should prepare for a ‘yin and yang’ style force to evolve Big Brother for a new generation.  This force will affect the Housemates for better or for worse.

Whilst the full ad, with the tagline "The Game is Changing", is all the better for not using the voice of Marcus Bentley.  Best one C5 have done IMO:

Thanks to bbspy.co.uk

The new house and studio are up though still a bit of work to be done on the garden and new eviction set.  More at:

Change is promised but whether it'll be enough to win back any lost fans I doubt it.  What we want if a format with clear rules with no production interference, plus of course the return of 24/7 live feeds.  Sadly the latter is more likely than the former - and there is pretty much zero chance of live feeds.

I stopped last season after three or four days, I'd like to know if the episodes from BB16 are still avalaible on YouTube and if so, what's the episode with Helen & cie entering in the house ?  I want to follow the two or three weeks of her stay.

LOL, so the season really was that boring, disgusting ? I thought with the ex-Contestants from other seasons, it could bring a bonus. (i only want to watch the two weeks with the ex contestants, not the rest of the season, I'm not interested at all).

I started to like last season, but the 4 in, 4 out twist massed everything up because Sam & Simon are horrible people, especially Simon, easily the last likable people in BBUK for me.
