I think we all thought it was going to start on Monday, but then someone uploaded the launch show to youtube on the 18th so it must have launched Sunday.

On the subject of if the house is in Poland or not. If anyone has seen the launch show, do the housemates go from the studio into the house or are they already in the house? I wouldn't have thought they would have the studio in Poland as the audience wouldn't understand Ukrainian.
I was confused because on the official website on the 18th the only show about Big Brother was: "Нарешті в Україні або феномен Big Brother" (Using google translator: "Finally, in Ukraine the phenomenon of Big Brother") I guess that is how they called the launch

Yes, the housemates went from the studio into the house, the host also was in the house at the begining. But maybe they pay to the public to go as extras

However I'm not sure now, the hallway is a bit bigger than in the Polish house and the bedrooms a bit smaller than the others ???. But they definitely used the same floorplan from the Polish house

Bad ratings for Big Brother's launch in Ukraine.

The launch obtained a rating of 0.25% (this means 0.77% share).

The rating of K1 during the last week was 1.65%.

Alexandra was taken to the hospital today, and is suffering from an unknown illness.

According to the website, it is unlikely she will return. :(

OK, the host is Olga Gorbacheva.

All housemates are from Kiev except for Irina (Sevastopol) and Vladimir (Odesa).

Isn't their more than one dialect in the Ukraine? Is that why they're almost all from the same region?
Judging from just one comment on YouTube, they are not actually using Ukrainian but Russian. I'm not sure, what the difference is. I'm guessing it's kind of like Swedish and Norwegian. Similar, but not quite the same language.

Oh ok, I find that kind of strange but I suppose it makes sense. BTW, does anyone know if a BB copy has already aired in the Ukraine? By the ratings I would guess the answer to this is yes either that or they don't like it because it's to "western" for them.

Also, if it's really Russian they are using for this series I don't think Ukrainians would appreciate it much. For the most parts. This could also explain, why there are so many HMs from the capital. They would most likely be more consent to using Russian. I don't really know, how the Ukrainians think. But my guess is, using Russian doesn't really go well for most of the country.

That makes sense considering the house is either in Poland or the Ukrainian production team was able to get the floor plan of the polish house from the polish production team/channel that aired it. Either way if they (the Ukrainians) have a good relationship with the Poles then there's probably a good chance they don't have one with the Russians (despite a similar language and alphabet).

According to the website, she can be pregnant  :o, and she wants to return to the house but the doctors doesn't want, so Big Brother will have the last word.

And they also said that on the first night, Konstantin and Aleksandra had sex  :o

BTW, it seems that she works in the Ukranian version of "Deal or No Deal", so I guess she is a little famous in Ukraine

On the launch show, Big Brother told a candidate called Eldano Eldar he wouldn't be entering the house. He was all prepared to enter, and the reason he was refused (I suppose ejected before he even entered :D) remains a mystery.

The site supposes that the Israeli faced the possibility of being rejected by his family for entering the house. There is also hints it could just be a twist and he will be one of the fourteen to enter the house in all.

Three more are supposed to enter today, taking the total to 10. Then there will be another 2 and whichever 2 candidates win the vote on the site.

Alexandra has returned to the house after her hospital visit.

And again, despite the website promoting this, no new housemates have entered yet.

Marina and Spartak were chosen by the public to enter to the house. Yulia and Nikola were missed out.

The final percentages were:
36.23%
35.99%
14.25%
13.53%

They didn't revealed the order, but a few minutes earlier they showed another graphic with the names:

So I guess the order was: Spartak, Nikola, Marina and Yulia

Also 5 new housemates entered to the house tonight (4 male and 1 female)

if you complain about it, you also have to know something about it: you just cannot compare the situation of western, liberal society to the Ukraine - it still takes a person a lot to out themselves in public and I doubt many would do this on a reality show.

Yesterday on their porfiles it said that they were married. I thought it was a quit strange that almost everyone was married, so I guess they just copied the porfile and change the name and the age. Last week it also said that Konstantin and Vladimir were married, but they are single too. THe only one married is Vladislav

Thanks for the correction Phil  ;D
