Big Brother Naija (Nigeria) 2

So this is happening. So they can find a sponsor for this but not for BBA or BBMzansi? Watch it be all actors  ::)

i don't like the way biggie says "big brother naija?" like he wants to add something but his brain shut (i know i'm petty but i'm bitter ok).

i'd say the best way to understand it is like, Nigeria is the name everybody knows for that country, Naija is the name nigerian give to the country with some kinda pride to live there, if that makes sense.
Mzansi is just the xhosa name for the South African territory.

Given for the same reason except as far as I know Pinoy is more used for the inhabitants of the country while Naija and Mzansi are about the country itself (though you can use it as an adjective as well lmao).

So they're just the name of the country in one of the native languages if I got that. I'm really surprised Nigeria will have its own version now since if I remember well they're having problems with terrorism in the country.

Yes it is...its the colloquial term used to refer the inhabitants locally.

Big Brother Naija - (Nigeria)
« Reply #7 on: December 01, 2016, 07:40:23 PM »

The Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, has announced the return of the popular reality TV Show, Big Brother Naija http://www.bigbrothernaija2017.com/.

He says the return is based on popular demand by people who wanted it back on the airwaves.
Meanwhile, the auditions for the second instalment of the reality TV series, sponsored by PayPorte, will hold on November 26 and 27 at the Westown Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

A statement by the organisers also notes that interested applicants must be over 21 years and have a valid Nigerian passport in order to be selected as part of the twelve housemates for the competition.
The Big Brother Naija show will be aired on dedicated event channels on DStv and GOtv in January 2017.
The first edition of the show aired on DStv Channel 37 from March 5 to June 4, 2006.The screening saw 12 housemates vie for the coveted $100,000 prize money by performing various mental and physical tasks.
At the end of the three-month stay in the house, Katung Aduwak emerged winner. Other notable stars such as Africa Magic’s Tinsel actor, Gideon Okeke, and TV personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, are the two biggest breakout stars from the reality show.

How many ex-contestants (regular HMs rather than celebrity HMs) have ended up hosting the show, and have any of them actually been any good?

I was kinda laughing at the winner prize but if you look at it, N25M is about 80K$ + Kia Sorento about 40K$ it's like better than most european country cash prizes.

From the top of my head:
Antonija Blacé - HM of Croatia's 1st season, host of the following seasons (also joint with former YU-countries) until 2015. VERY popular with the audience and actually quite successful with other high-profile prime time shows.
Alida Kurras - winner of Germany's 2nd season, joint host with the amazing Mirjam Piehlhau (R.I.P.) of season 9, semi popular due to her forced questions, which she problaby learnt on the fake talkshows she was hosting before
Jürgen Milski - HM and r/u of Germany's 1st season, co-host of season 8 - not that popular and more a gimmick
Christian Möllmann - HM of season 2, commentator of season 5 (and some others if I remember), main-host of the spin-off "Der Container Exklusiv" - love or hate given his controversial and honest opinion on all events and HMs, it got old at some point and even his fans found him too much on autotune on DCE
Brian Dowling - winner of UK's 2nd season and UBB and host of two civillian and four celebrities season after the show changed to C5 - not really popular with the audience as nothing has been after the change of the network

and I am almost sure that some girls from the teenage editions went on to be co-hosts of some seasons of Pinoy BB but I don't know who it was.

Most of the female winners of SS France have ended up at least co-hosting the side show as well : Nadege Lacroix who even co-hosted the main show but was really hated cuz she was bad at it, Leila Ben Khalifa has been a co-host for the last 2 season and is now a popular and established name, Emilie Fiorelli who was basically liked but irrelevant.

They seem to have been taken before the house construction was complete.
They are using the house that's been used for season nine of BBAfrica,
season two of BBMzansi and all three BBAngola seasons in South Africa.

They've got some use out of that house.   Is there a plan of it from any versions available?

(P.S.  Thanks for the responses regarding housemates becoming hosts)

Housemates were announced that they would be competing for "likes" and the two housemates with less amount of then would be evicted. However, this task only exists for housemates to know each other and no one will be evicted but instead, two more housemates will be joining later.
People laugh at me, but the last one laughs better
