Eurovision Song Contest 2014 Denmark
« on: May 21, 2013, 09:15:35 PM »
Hi guys! We already don't know the city who will host it, but we have already 10 countries that confirmed their participation! They are:
BELGIUM, FINLAND, GERMANY, HUNGARY, LATVIA, LITHUANIA, NETHERLANDS, NORWAY and SAN MARINO!

They're trying that some countries return to the competition, like Portugal and Bosnia & Herzegovina!

Me and a few friends have been planning to go to Denmark next year. Doesn't really even matter, where in Denmark the Eurovision will be held.
Lost a planet Master Obi Wan has. How embarrassing.

I'm sorry if Spain makes a ridiculous performance again in 2014 (excluding last year) lol

12 more countries confirmed their participation:
Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, France, Georgia, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Malta, Sweden and Switzerland.

The cities that are candidates to host the contest are: Copenhagen, Herning and Horsens.

Besides, Valentina Monetta will represent San Marino for a third consecutive year! I think that she deserves to qualify for the final.

I'm still doubt about Portugal. :-\ :-\ We can return, as they transmited this year the semi-finals and final, but in other side no, because the portuguese people don't really care about ESC, LOL.

The rules will evolve this year. After the Azerbadjan scandal of last year, the jury (whose vote represent 50% of the final points) will have to each reveal and publish their ranking, no jury can take part to 3 editions in a row and more rules to try to stop the corruption.

I'm glad they decided to reveal the rankings. Actually, I don't really think that there should be a jury. It should be all about the viewers.

Sad news: Croatia withdrew from the 2014 contest because of financial problems and a string of poor results between 2010 and 2013.

I think that the festival will take place in Herning or Horsens since the Parken Stadium form Copenhagen withdrew [even though the ESC 2011 took place there].

Conchita Wurst will represent Austria. Tijana Dapčević will represent Macedonia. So far, all the countries that have already chosen a participant [Macedonia, Austria and San Marino], have chosen female singers. Maybe the fact that Loreen and Emmilie de Forest won the last two contests have something to do with it?

Spain is going to choose between five people to go Eurovision...scary

Candidates:

Ruth Lorenzo from X Factor UK

Brequette Cassie from La Voz

Jorge Gonzalez from La Voz

Raúl a nobody

La Dama

I swear that if it's not Ruth or Brequette I'm going not going to watch it this year, I found it insulting that the other 3 mediocres represents Spain and if that happens I will pray every day so the plain to Denmark crashes.

Excuse me?? Raúl isn't nobody. He was a good singer in late 90's and earlies 00's and some songs from him are very popular. But I admit that nowadays he isn't singing nothing.

La Dama is really unknown, who is she??

I hope Ruth can make it and represents Spain so well as Pastora did in 2012.

if I'm honest I though it was the guy with glasses who won that flop in A3 (it wouldn't have been a bad choice though)

Also...there's a bit of bitterness in the Finnish prequalifications. Or for one judge, really. Toni Wirtanen asked, why the Finnish elite of music isn't participating more. Wirtanen himself is a part of Apulanta...one of the most successfull bands here.

So...the question is on some lips...why don't Mr. Wirtanen make an example to follow. Instead of just talking.

http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=executive_supervisor_goes_in-depth_on_prevention_of_cheating

How on Earth can anyone seriously cheat on the ESC? That would take more than just one country. Or two...and I'm not sure anyone would be willing to pay the price, it would really take to change the outcome. First it was political voting. Now cheating. Let's just face it...it's not political and certainly not cheating. The best entry wins. With best I mean the entry, that gets most of the votes from all over Europe. And if it's the mafia trying to make a profit on betting...a really poor attempt.

I know, there are a lot of Finns voting Finland from Estonia and Sweden. At least. I guess that's kind of cheating...but it most likely happens all over. So I guess we should just put an end to the ESC for being so corrupt. :P

That's it.
