I think it's gonna be an awesome season. Do we know if there will be  a live feed or it's too early to tell ?

It looks almost certain that it'll air in August next year off the back of the Olympics.
I hope not. But April - June, I think it's good. Two months maybe. (Ten weeks).

I think they might go with ten weeks (around 75 days) that is what CBS is currently doing with Big Brother USA since BB10. Previously Big Brother USA ran for 82 days (typically 11-12 weeks) but when ratings started to decline CBS experimented with shortening the duration. Big Brother 10 was shortened down to 71 days because of Big Brother 9 running 82 days. Ever since Big Brother 10 CBS has been going with 71-75 day seasons and viewership has increased year on year. So I can see Nine looking at a fresh take on the format (Secrets which they have done) so they may look at how a shorter season like in the US is working for CBS.

One of the major problems I think that BBAus and BBUK had was they ran too long and had too much coverage sometimes which can cause viewer fatigue.

There's a picture of the new Australian BB logo. Looks like they've had the good sense to abandon the 'secrets' theme too.

BBAUS House enters Construction for 2012
« Reply #29 on: May 02, 2012, 11:55:03 PM »
Nine have started construction on the brand new Big Brother Australia House, as it prepares to launch it's brand new series in August.

It appears that they are using the old Big Brother compound used from 2001 which housed every series of Big Brother Australia.

Here are the images.

It looks smaller than on TV. And are those red markings where the rooms used to be

:o  ;D, I can´t believe they let things get that bad in garden, but other than that I´m REALLY happy to see that they haven´t changed the house yet. Seeing at least the walls from BBAUS 2008 brings back a lot of memories.

I'm so excited to see BB Australia back! If things are done well, the show will be as huge as it was in the beginning! Kudos to that!
:) Live happy every day!!! <3

Big Brother Australia should consider casting Corey Delaney now. I'd watch for sure. I know they wanted to cast him when was 16, but He must be like 20-21 now.

I've known people who did that for years while Australia was airing BB and UK aired BB on Channel 4. IDK if I could do that, but at least the advantage is - if one of them sucks, there's now two others I'd watch.

OMG LMAO! I like how the video suggests we'll get to see some normal people in the house as opposed to the fame-whores that get denied. ;D ;D

And I'm already loving the new host more than Jackie and Kyle, who were the worst hosts evverrr. :D

I can't really remember anything about Jackie at all but Kyle was a loathsome person from what I can remember.

Apparently there won't be a live feed. I hope more countries don't take the hint from the idiots at Channel Five, because I'm pretty sure this is why they're not doing the LF. ::) ::)

I think they won't bring back the livestream because it is just too risky for the producers. Do you remember what scandals happened in the whole world because of the possibility the viewers could watch 24/7? If you make an delay of e.g. 5 to 15 minutes like germany did, there is a massive costs factor you have. They need people who censors the risky scenes and of course technique equipment! But cool down at the moment because there is even no official statement they will not provide a livestream or something like that ;)

We have the houseplan over at behindbigbrother.com too - seems the main living area inside the house will be really small and just the lounge, as it was in BB4 (but looks even smaller).

well there are a lot of corners. Can't get why they build it like that way?! In my opinion they just need more and more camera men with every more meter camera corridor. Obviously nine has payed more than enoughxD

Absolutely agree - I think it's a very poor plan actually and wastes so much space.   When you think in that same space they got two houses back in 2003 and this time they have just a small lounge, bathroom and not that big a bedroom to be honest, plus the diary room and noms room - it is just so wasteful.    If they want to go the cramped route fair enough, but they could do that and still make better use of the space and as you say reduce their need for camera operators.
