Big Brother 11 Australia
« on: November 25, 2013, 05:32:20 PM »
Channel Nine has confirmed that Big Brother Australia will return for its eleventh series next year, as Tim Dormer beat Jade Pietrantonio and Tahan Lew-Fatt to become its 2013 winner.

The current edition of the show came to an end earlier today during a bumper live finale, when host Sonia Kruger announced that Tim had taken the crown by the narrowest of margins.

The 29-year-old – who made headlines worldwide last year when he streaked on the plane pop superstar Rihanna hired to transport guests on her ’777 Tour’ – topped the public vote with 36%, only 2% ahead of runner-up Jade’s 34% share.

Despite being one of the bigger characters among the housemates, Tim wasn’t given a full interview, but after being reminded that he’d won the AU$250,000 grand prize he joked: “I don’t know what to do with it, I’m gonna need a bigger wallet!”

He was known for his gameplaying and strategic moves, which included putting himself up for eviction during a nominee swap.

Jade was also given little airtime following her exit, but was surprised with the news that she’d recieve a second place prize of AU$10,000 and a top-of-the-range 65″ 4K Sony television.

Earlier, Tahan – who was nominated for eight evictions during her 101 days in the house – left in third place with 30% of the final vote, earning her a consolation prize of $5,000.

She said of the result: “It’s a huge achievement for me. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for people voting, I could have gone went at any point I was up.”

Meanwhile, Kruger also stated that Big Brother Australia will return in 2014, despite this year’s series experiencing a significant drop in ratings.

It will be the third edition of the show to air on Nine after they revived it from a four-year break, with prospective contestants now able to register their interest for auditions at bigbrother.com.au.

Australia seriously needs to get live feed, I'm sure last season would have had better rating if instead of confusing storyline and manipulated videos we got to watch what really happened in that house

The first time I watched BBAU09 I thought it was the best thing ever, it was such a change from the crap BB my country puts out. And I loved Estelle! But now that I've gone back and watched older series of BBAU, back when it was on Channel 10, I realize BBAU09 and BBAU10 were pretty crap in comparison. I wish that for series 11 they'd bring back the old style (live feed, MUCH less editing and forced story lines/focus on showmances, better tasks, "average joe" housemates instead of ridiculously far out ones that you would never meet in real life, NO MORE FAMILY FRIENDLY BULLS***) although they can keep some things that Channel 9 has introduced (3+ up vote to save, 1 hour shows instead of 30 minute shows).

The only-6 housemates up for eviction until Week 7 is probably the best thing producers did last season, most of the dullest and uninteresting housemates were out and the huge characters stayed. I hope they repeat the same formula for this season.

Announce what - it's already been confirmed it's coming back, and it won't be until around August again as Nine have got at least two series of The Block to air before then.

I can tell you though that this week they begin stripping out the house.

Ready?

Big Brother Australia's new house to be multi-level for the first time
The 2014 Big Brother Australia house will have more than one storey for the first time in the show's history.

The news was leaked to MailOnline by a well-placed source who has been involved with the hit reality series since 2001. 'The house is building up for the first time ever,' the source said.

I'm so excited for Big Brother Australia 2014! :D I hope it's not a two story house. I just don't like those kinds of houses in Big Brother, just like in BBUS. :3

It won't be, though it is the in thing of late.   It all comes down to design really - don't think Canada have quite got theirs right.

The Housemate Hunt for this year's Big Brother is now done and they are currently renovating the HOUSE!!!! But I really doubt that it will be a two story house. It will be a major reconstruction of the house since it was just made for a one story house. Plus, I really don't like the idea of a two story big brother house.

It won't happen in Aus but I'm all for more two storey houses - just nice to see something different.

BTW, it's not starting until September.

OK...I can't find the launch day on any of the official channels. At the moment it seems though, that it's definitely in September.
Lost a planet Master Obi Wan has. How embarrassing.
