Big Brother 3 Canada
« on: May 13, 2014, 06:43:17 AM »
By these numbers it's likely that will have an 3rd season in 2015...

Season two of Big Brother Canada has attracted huge numbers for Slice, helping the broadcaster reach a total of 6.4million viewers over its nine-week run.

According to information released by the female-targeted cable channel today, this means Big Brother is now Canada’s top-rated specialty reality show of the year so far.

Last Thursday’s two-hour grand finale was also the most watched specialty programme of the night, with over 1.1million viewers tuning in to see Jon Pardy leave the house as the winner – beating even a playoff hockey match.

The show’s official website also smashed its own records from last year, with fans streaming over 46.5million minutes of the four free online live feeds.

Meanwhile, a total of over 1.4million votes were cast in the ‘Twistos Twist’ and ‘The Brick Get The HoH Look’ online polls.

Previously Slice revealed that Big Brother Canada had boosted its 2014 audience by 58%.

Bosses are expected to order a third season as a result of the impressive figures, but an official announcement has yet to be made.

it won't be back in Slice?

although that's not the channel where they show American programs like Big Brother or Survivor?

Global is a network like Telecinco, it's a MAJOR BROADCASTING network, while Slice is just a CABLE NETWORK. So, I'm really happy that BB Canada is finally moving to a big network. You get it now?
:) Live happy every day!!! <3

That's the worry - and higher pressure to meet ratings expectations too.   It is the right move though - BBUSA has worked really well for Global so it's only right that now it's proved itself Shaw have moved BB Canada to it's main network.   Global obviously gambling on a few US shows not making it to mid-season to ensure they have room for BB Canada.

I suspect the Side Show will remain on Slice and wouldn't be surprised if it's beefed up a bit - either expanded to an hour or airing after every show (probably with a dedicated host).   Would be good too if they did some kind of "Uncut" weekly show if it has to be toned down for Global.

It's been confirmed the Side Show will return to Slice next year and double in length to an hour.    Arisa remains as host and sadly both Peter and Gary remain - was hoping they'd replace the latter with Neda as he added nothing to the show, unlike Peter who despite me despising him during his season was a very good analyst of the game on this.

I thought all Peter's analysis were completly off point personally. And his voice is annoying, I don't think he's made for tv tbh. Gary is way easier to tolerate.
But I wish they just had replaced the two ex-housemates with housemates from the second season. Ika and Neda would have been perfect, both well spoken and popular.

I watched season 1 and season 2 of BB Can.

I stopped watching season 1 after Suzette was evicted

I loved season 2 . That twist was good and I watched every single episode ( I usually stop watching in the middle lol).

I am ready for season 3 ;D
