Guess the regular season will pretty much follow on from this then.

A few years ago a 15 year run of Big Brother Germany wouldn't have been a surprise.

wasn't a previous german season supposed to last forever as long as the ratings were good but they ended up being average/bad and it was cut to 1 year?

Yes. that was BB6 where they had a "village". it started directly after the highly successful season 5 which was running a year too but from the beginning it was certain how long it will last. with BB6 the dynamics and excitement just couldn't get on because which truely interesting characters would stay out of real life for uncertain time to be on a reality show that is not even set somewhere else than the country you life in. BB6 was trying to create a "fake new world" as in the truman show. actually much like Utopia and I think thats the problem these kind of shows don't work anywhere outside of the Netherlands, where reality tv seems to be more of cultural impact than it is somewhere else.

Yes, that's what they're planning on doing.

First the Celebrity version in August for three weeks and then the regular season from September to December.

A few years ago a 15 year run of Big Brother Germany wouldn't have been a surprise.

They tried to do that with BB6 The Village but thanks to starting it on the last day of season 5 and with the TV station expecting way too much it got called off about a year later.

These days tv stations would kill for the rates they had back then.

BTW: There might not be a live stream.
Both the celebrity and regular season will be streamed on pay tv by Sky.
That's something they did(regular seasons) from BB5 till celebrity BB1.

nope. Promi BB will be on Sat. 1 like in the last two years and the civillian one will be shown on small niché SIXX instead. I guess it will remain unseen by most people just like Der Container exklusiv was a few years ago.

I doubt that.
It has been mentioned with Celebrity BB quite a bit and they had pretty good ratings.
Also, it being broadcasted by Sky should help as well.

Though, I really hope there'll be more then just one live stream.

15 days is too short, but in Bulgaria it lasts for 2 months since season 3 and it is always getting boring after the first month

I think they extended it to three weeks this year? And TBH I think thats enough. I hate it when there are too long celebrities seasons because these people get annoying so quickly and the longer a season is the more unknown the people are (hence they don't have anything significant to do outside).

Don't get your hopes up too much. Airing the civilian season on a channel nobody watches is a hard task especially since true reality formats with civillians do not really work much these days even on bigger channels (see Newtopia). Even Der Container Exklusiv was aired on Sky and the majority of regular audience has no clue of the existence of this show even when it was a 1:1 clone from the same producers (why isn't it considered to be part of the franchise? it even has the same logo!)

I don't have huge expectations or anything.
I'm just happy there'll be another regular season of it to follow and I also know that there isn't too much money involved, which will limit what they can do.

Though, thanks to the latter season of BB in Germany, I just don't think you could do much worse then what the production did with the 10th(which pretty much destroyed it in Germany) and 11th seasons.

BTW: I also watched "Der Container Live" and it wasn't good at all.

I think (and hope) that the advantage of it being on a smaller niche channel is they'll just let it be Big Brother rather than the crap some countries (BBUK I'm looking at you!) are churning out now under the name.

People stated to be part of this season.

Menowin Fröhlich(Singer, DSDS)
Nino D'Angelo
Wilfried Gliem
Desiree Nick
Michael Ammerer(well known Party Host)
Gina Lisa Lohfink or Nina Kristin Fiutak(They want a blond "Hot Girl" in there)

BTW: The season will start on Friday, August 14th at 8:15 p.m.
That shows they're pretty confident about their product given that the Bundesliga starts the same day(just fifteen minutes later) with a game of Bayern Munich vs HSV, which will be broadcasted on Free TV as well.

The house plan.

The house will be seperated again with one part being upstairs and the other one in the cellar.
So it's pretty much like last year and said to be somewhat of a copy of BB9, which head two sides called heaven and hell.

Also, Menowin Fröhlich has been announced as the first participant of the show and they'll announced another one each day till Friday.

The 2nd participant of the show will be former German National Team football player David Odonkor, who was part of the 2006 WC squad.

And the 3rd housemate will decided by the viewers: Either ex-Germany's Next Topmodel contestant Gina-Lisa Lohfink or former "Berlin - Tag und Nacht"-actress Julia-Jasmin Rühle
