Apparently that isn't the only thing similar to Secret Story, but so are many of the graphics. Check out the vid which has graphics of SS.

The launch obtained good ratings in its return, although the ratings in Alpha TV are lows.

"Big Brother" (21,9%) was second option when it competed with "Master Chef" in MEGA (23,9%). When the MEGA's programe finished, "Big Brother" obtained 30% share.

In Germany we just have <10% and the producers are happy with that! I know in every other country the show would cancelled with this poor ratings!

But I think that t every TV is different. The important is to be profitable and be above the channel's average.

If Big Brother was intended as a regular season primetime program for CBS it would have been axed a long time ago. The current 6-8 million viewer range wouldn't cut it for CBS during a regular ratings period. If the original season had been better produced and had better Housemates it could have been a real contender but once the first season turned many viewers off it never recovered and is currently doing okay as a summer filler. It is cheap for CBS to produce and during the summer CBS normally airs repeats anyway.

The only thing that has saved Big Brother in the United States is the 18-34 & 18-49 demographics. Big Brother typically rates higher with younger viewers vs. the older audience that other CBS shows attracts plus it performs well with CBS' target 25-54 demo. Because BB12 was able to be close or almost match America's Got Talent in the demographics saved it. If BB10 had continued a ratings plunge after BB9 then it would have been axed but where the show has improved its ratings for three years running CBS is renewing it. (Not many summer shows are actually rebounding in the ratings.)

I have a feeling if BB13 under performs for CBS the United States could be the next country to say goodbye to Big Brother unless The CW would want to tackle BB. If CBS did ever axe Big Brother I could see NBC being the only broadcaster attempting the risk. Big Brother is treading on thin ice in the United States and I fear it could be axed if CBS could ever find a program to replace it with.

I disagree (to an extent). If BBUS had aired during the regular fall season then yes it would have been axed. But since it airs in the summer, it is constantly their #1 (or #2) show of the night, even during BB10! Plus ratings have been increasing for Big Brother (in the States) so it would be foolish of CBS to can BB unless BB13 have a drastic plunge in the ratings which doesnt seem likely. If CBS gave BB a shot especially after the disaster that was BB9, it would give BB another chance if BB13 bombs, especially since it's summer and reruns are the main competition. Basically, I don't think BB is treading on thin ice, at all.

Does anyone know what's going on in BB Greece right now? (BTW as long as we're going completely off topic, Season 13 of Expedition Robinson is starting today)

Dimitris, whose information appeared on the website on the launch night, has since had all the information about him completely removed from the site.
