The BBF7 house got quite a bit drama last week.
A week ago, the housemates prepared for an ordinary Sunday night's eviction show. They thought they were all up for eviction. Near the end of the show, however, they were announced that the televoting has now ended and lines have been closed, but the viewers were voting on a free immunity ticket - all the way to the final week - for one of the HMs, not on eviction.
The housemates were never announced who the winner was (Mikael); they were just told one
of them has won the immunity. Directly after this announcement, BB ordered Ben to move to the special spare room in the house and instructed him to lock the two sound-proof doors behind him. The other HMs, who were still sitting on the couches, took this as an obvious sign of Ben being the winner. Ben found a bottle of sparkling wine and a bouquet of roses in the room. There was also something to eat on the table. He sat down on a bean-bag chair, waiting for further instructions, and he was obviously thinking, at least for a while, that he had won the immunity.
While Ben was locked in the room, the live eviction show ended. The other HMs were soon ordered to go outside in the yard... and they were then instructed to leave the yard through a door in the back which leads to the outdoor task area. They had no time for any preparations, so they were wearing their Sunday best with makeup and all. In the task area, they then found out they have to "mine copper" from a huge pile of sand (there were small copper bits and pieces hidden in the sand) and play chess against Big Brother where each piece is some broken recyclable househould appliance, also containing copper.
The task area featured a "recycling station", set apart in the back, and there were tools and clothes and other gear (safety glasses, steel-capped boots, helmets, overalls) for dismantling the "chess pieces" they won in the game of chess. They also had shovels for "mining" the copper from the pile of sand. But they had to sleep outdoors, in sleeping bags, under a frail canopy with no walls. BB provided them with food and (second-hand) clothes, and they also had a microwave oven and a range at their disposal in the task area. And most of them (but not all) also got their suitcases which had been packed in preparation for the possible eviction back in the house and then locked in the storage room before the eviction show began.
During the time the other HMs entered the task area, Ben was alone in the house, locked in the spare room, still thinking he might have won the immunity. Then, suddenly, four new female HM candidates entered the room through the spare room's private diary room. (This was probably when Ben figured out he is not likely to have won the immunity, but he was clearly glowing for a while when he was still alone, thinking he might have won it.)
Ben and the new girls were kept in the room for a while. They used that time for introducing themselves to each other and for drinking the wine and enjoying the food catered for them on the table. When they were finally allowed to leave the spare room, they found, bafflingly, an empty BB house with no other housemates. Most of the beds in the bedroom had also been removed. Neither Ben nor the four new girls knew anything about the fate of the other housemates.
It was soon revealed to Ben that the four new female housemates are not housemates proper but housemate candidates
who need to woo Ben in every possible way to win his favor and trust, competing against each other. And at the end of the week, Ben is required to promote one of them to a real housemate, and the other three girls will have to leave. As has been reported earlier, Ben chose Veera and the other three girls (Liana, Kaisa and Netta) were evicted after only four days in the house. But those four days involved lots of drinking, partying, great meals, etc. and the girls had to pamper Ben in many ways and also sleep in the same bed with him. What is more, Ben was also allowed to invite them, one at a time, to the spare room, which had now been turned into a private bedroom for him, with a queen-size bed.
OK, all good and well, but Ben has an inside-the-house love affair with another HM, Amanda. And Amanda spent the week camping in the outdoor task area with the other HMs. Before last week's task, Ben and Amanda slept together in the same bed and were often seen caressing and kissing each other and doing... who knows what.
During Ben's special "harem" week, he slept with each of the four new girls... not quite that way, but still, doing similar things with them as he has been doing with Amanda. Including kissing, hugging, petting and - at least with one of the girls - fingering and a handjob. (Or something like that. It's hard to tell exactly as they were covered by a duvet. But the nightshot IR pictures and the accompanying audio were clear enough you can definitely say there was something more going on than just sleeping.)
Now, after a couple of days, Big Brother started showing video clips of these events to Amanda in the diary room of the outdoor task area, and she was allowed to tell about the things she saw to the other housemates. Quite predictably, all hell broke loose among the women of the house in the task area, and not too many men were amused about Ben's undertakings, either. Ben was seen as cheating on Amanda. Amanda broke in tears and was comforted by the other women.
Soon after this, BB called Mikael (whose love interest in the house is Annika) in the diary room of the task area and assigned him a special task: he had to get drunk in the diary room, leave the task area through the backdoor of the diary room (blindfolded), and re-enter the house, joining Ben and the four new girls for a couple of hours. Ben and the four female HM candidates were having a bubble-bath party in the outdoor jacuzzi while Mikael joined them. Ben was happy to see him, not knowing about the fate of the other HMs but Mikael was not allowed to tell him anything about them at all, and especially nothing about Amanda. He was just brought there for the party, no questions please.
After some four hours in the party, Mikael disappeared through the main diary room of the house and re-entered the outdoor task area through the task area's diary room. While he was away, Annika (his love interest in the house) was already seen crying and imagining the worst as she thought those new "vamps" in the house will seduce Mikael, too. Again, Mikael was not allowed to tell the other HMs anything about what was going on in the house.
The next day, Amanda and Annika were suddenly instructed to leave the task area through the diary room and they were led into the house, blindfolded, only to find themselves in the spare room's diary room. When they entered the house, they found the four female HM candidates in there, waiting for their movie night to begin. Even though both Annika and Amanda knew about what had been going on in the house, they introduced themselves nicely to the other girls and joined them for watching a movie. (It was a romantic comedy called "No strings attached", by the way, if I recall correctly. BB's sense of irony.) Ben was not allowed to take part in this: the spare room was locked and he was instructed to stay on the other side of the house, so he did not know about Amanda visiting the house. After the movie was over (it was a bit awkward, as the two girls had their smelly task area clothes on and had not been allowed to take a shower, and the other four girls were wearing their best and had make-up on and everyhing), Amanda and Annika were ordered to leave the house through the diary room again, and were returned to the task area.
When the HMs were, by the end of the week, finally allowed to leave the damp, cold and rainy task area, BB had also been showing them some random video clips of Ben and the four new girls publicly on a video monitor, also located in the task area. The housemates, however, made a deal that this is between Amanda and Ben, and they will not directly confront Ben unless Amanda wants to make it public, and Amanda wanted to see how Ben will explain himself to her.
When the HMs re-entered the house, they found, to their surprise, only Ben and Veera there, having a romantic dinner provided by BB (this time with George Michael's "Careless Whisper" blaring on the loudspeakers - another ironic jab from BB?) - not four new girls as they thought. The other three girls had been evicted a couple of hours earlier. Ben explained his task to them, and the other housemates told him about their task in the outdoor task area. Amanda, however, did not hug Ben or approach him, for obvious reasons. Ben noticed this immediately, confronted her, and soon found out about the video clips.
Ben tried to put sugar-coating on everything and explained how nothing worth mentioning has happened: some kissing and backrubs, yes, but that's all, and it was part of the task. And OK, there was this one girl who was sexually aggressive and tried to fondle his private parts but he held her back all the time. He even explained that BB has probably faked some clips to make him look bad in Amanda's eyes. To the disbelief of the viewers, Amanda seemed to buy this all, and was soon seen hugging and kissing Ben again. Everything seemed to go back to normal.
Now, this week, BB has suddenly displayed more nightly video clips of Ben and the female HM candidates on the living room TV. Everyone got to see Ben kissing Veera, and Ben in bed with another girl, Netta, having an exchange with her about penetration. (Ben asked if it's OK, but Netta did not allow that.) In one of the shown clips, Ben is in the jacuzzi with three of the new girls and exclaims, when asked about Amanda, that he's not really missing Amanda at all. (See the latter part of this daily show
This time, Amanda was clearly hurt - although she apparently does not want to display much emotion outside and wasn't really crying - and she no longer believes Ben has been telling her the thruth. However, they still
made up, after lots of persuasion and apologies from Ben's part, even though Amanda said if this had happened in the outside world, she would have erased Ben's number from her phone and stop seeing him. For one reason or the other, though, Amanda and Ben are, once again, back to their normal cuddly-fondly-huggy behavior, which is a bit baffling to most viewers after all these revelations... except for the fact that Ben, Amanda, Salar and Tamer belong to a secret alliance in the house which pulls together when giving their nomination points... and maybe Amanda did not want to leave that alliance or turn Ben against herself.
So there you have it. Some soap opera we have this year... but at least there are lots of things going on!
(To Veera's defense, the only thing she
has been doing with Ben in the bed is kissing and hugging and embracing... and she even said to Ben, on the record, that they can't really keep kissing like that... as she might fall for him for his looks, but not now as she knows of Ben's interest in Amanda. A video clip of this piece of pillow talk was also shown to all the housemates - including Amanda - so they hold no grudges against her. After all, she was only kissing. It was one of the other girls, Netta, who did more, but as Ben did not choose her, she was evicted among the other "failed" HM candidates.)
Needless to say, Ben's popularity has taken quite a hit among the viewers, and his housemates do not think too highly on him, either. It will be interesting to see if he will be nominated for eviction this week, especially as he is also running the largest (secretly scheming) nomination points voting alliance in the house and has formerly tried to make lots of personal/mutual non-voting deals with the other housemates.
All in all, Ben is one of the dirtiest "players" in the house right now, along with Salar. On many occasions, he has also been knowingly badmouthing other housemates for things they never did. The unexpected thing is, though, that Amanda chose to stay by his side and continue their close kissing/hugging relationship. But her diary room sessions reveal her to be quite disillusioned about Ben now... so maybe she's only doing that in order to safeguard herself against nominations.
