Residents of Heaven have received massage chairs in the living room. Two residents of Hell need to pump the Device of Purgatory to keep them operational while the rest are summoned to the Platform of Hades to observe the massage. The residents of Heaven are enjoying Ben & Jerry's ice cream while being massaged. (This might be BB's jab at Ben whose birthday it is today.)

There's a news article on the official BBF website about today's events. Apparently BB is going to show revealing video clips of Salar's doings with the women of the house to the residents of Heaven... especially Veera. (So they will get to see him fooling around with Janica.) I suppose this might happen during tonight's Big Brother Extra show which is broadcast at 7 p.m. Finnish time, but don't take my word for it.  Maybe they'll save it for later into the night. Another possible timeslot for dramatic events is after the daily which will be shown on TV at 10 p.m. But sometimes they will postpone dramatic events past midnight... you can never tell. We'll be wiser after today's BB Extra. (Finnish time is UTC+3 at the moment. It will change to UTC+2 later when the daylight saving time is over.)

Many special events which happen during the week in the BB house take place during the live broadcast of the BB Extra show so those watching the 24/7 feeds may want to check out the timespan from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Finnish time each work day to catch them live.

If you want to watch the actual BB Extra show live as it is broadcast, you can do it on Katsomo.fi... if you're a 24/7 subscriber. See this previous post for instructions. (Just choose "Big Brother Extra" instead of "Big Brother Talk Show".) After the live broadcast is over, the show will appear in the video archives where it is freely viewable via the official BBF website. ("Videot" = Video clips, "Ohjelmat" = Shows, "Valitse päivä" = Pick a day)

BB Extra is broadcast Mon-Fri at 7 p.m. Finnish time. It lasts half an hour and includes studio segments and interviews, with Elina Viitanen hosting them. During the show, Elina also usually displays a brief glimpse of what is currently happening in the house - some special event is often scheduled to take place or start during BB Extra. (This is designed to serve as an appetizer for the viewers who have not yet subscribed to the 24/7 service.) The show also sometimes includes behind-the-scenes material of the preparation of the weekly tasks or glimpses to what will be happening next. After each eviction, the evictee will be interviewed on BB Extra the following day - usually Monday.

A video clip about Salar and Janica in bed and another clip about Salar and Suvi faking fellatio under a blanket were shown on the living room TV about 20 minutes ago (in relation to the timestamp of this post.) If you're a 24/7 subscriber and happen to read this post in about one and a half hour, you can still catch it by using BBViewer and its timeshifting option.

Veera was looking hurt and upset upon seeing the clip. It played two times and she then dashed outside for a smoke. Janica saw herself drunk in bed on the video clip for the first time. She only had a patchy recollection of that night and looked quite surprised... and maybe a little ashamed of herself.

In the smoking place, Terhi and Suvi are accompanying Veera who is trying to hold back tears, without quite succeeding in that. Since the residents of Heaven need to keep up the facade of happiness and enjoyment, she's saying they're tears of joy. She's also trying to say other cheerful things, and Terhi and Suvi are also commenting how it's been a fun night and they saw a nice movie evoking emotions.

Terhi (who had been awake on that night and seen the incident on the video with her own eyes and mentioned it before): "I told you all... and you didn't believe me."

Suvi and Terhi leave the smoking place. They feel they're all going to need something to drink now. The head to the diary room to ask BB to deliver them some beverages. Veera remains outside a while longer. She then gets up and starts walking towards the house. Halfway to the house, she stops for a while and sobs quietly for a moment. Then she goes in to the house and straight to the bathroom. Janica is still sitting on the sofa. She's been talking with Stefan about the things they saw on the video and explaining that they didn't go all the way with Salar even though Salar may have been touching her. She also says it doesn't really matter for her, but she thinks the incident is going to make things more difficult in the house for both her and the others, especially Veera, and she regrets that.

After a while, Janica goes to the bathroom and hugs Veera. She says she didn't mean to do the things on the video and she was so drunk she can't really remember anything. Veera says she knows, and she was in a quite similar situation herself earlier, during the week she entered the house and had to entertain Ben.

After leaving the bathroom Veera is still quite emotional. She wants Stefan to hug her and cries and sobs against his large chest, hidden from the view of the cameras. Janica is watching the scene from the sofa, Suvi and Terhi are still in the diary room. The residents of hell have been locked inside their place of torment so they don't see this scene either - except for Ben, who is currently serving the residents of Heaven in a devil costume.

Veera says to Janica she holds no grudges. She's just unsure of her feelings towards Salar right now. Janica explains she's not interested in Salar in that way. The only thing she has ever wanted from him is some closeness during their stay in the house. Janica has always said that if some new female housemate comes along and Salar starts showing interest in her, she'll back off. Veera says she knows that, they've discused it before. But she doesn't want to discuss this matter now in order not to ruin the weekly task. They're supposed to enjoy themselves while they're in Heaven.

Terhi and Suvi return from the diary room. They've ordered something to drink and all the residents of Heaven are now waiting for the delivery to arrive in the storage room.

The residents of Hell get to see the video clips, too. Salar is a bit annoyed at BB showing them and tries to save as much as there is to save. He has already talked about the events to Veera last week but the video clips still had a noticeable impact on her. It's difficult to say whether Veera will continue sleeping in the same bed with Salar after the weekly task is over, but as of now, they don't need to, as Veera is a resident of Heaven and Salar is a resident of Hell.

Veera did not take the video clips lightly and she felt hurt by Salar fooling around with Janica, that much is clear. Tears were running down her cheeks also during the second showing of the clips. But she still needs to try and act like she was enjoying her stay in Heaven all the time. The residents of Heaven are going to spend another night enjoying themselves in the jacuzzi and in the sauna, and the residents of Hell need to do squats and pump the Device of Purgatory to keep all the good things in Heaven powered.

Love that the Finnish producers are pushing the tasks that little bit further this year and great to see a fresh interpretation of "heaven/hell".

I added some screen grabs in the above post.

Earlier today, there was an interesting discussion in Hell. Sebastian came clean on his view about Annika constantly saying bad things about Janica behind her back. It makes Sebastian feel awkward: he is friends with both women and he'd want to leave the room every time Annika starts going on about that.

The schism between the girls started early in the season. One of the things that makes their personal relationship tense and strained is Mikael: Janica feels Mikael changed his attitude towards her when he started spending all his time with Annika. They have become very distant and no longer get involved in the kind of friendly interaction that was going on during the first couple of weeks. This bothers Janica. Annika, on the other hand, is very jealous of Mikael which makes things even worse.

Another thing that Annika constantly keeps mentioning is that during the bee hive task, Janica was assigned the role of the Queen Bee, and she was acting it out in a very cruel way, giving nasty orders to her underlings for her personal delight and seemingly enjoying it. Sebastian believes this is just Janica playing the game to the fullest and taking the role-play tasks seriously, but Annika thinks Janica is genuinely enjoying when she can humiliate other housemates. Annika feels Janica has also behaved the same towards the residents of Hell now that she's living in Heaven. Some other residents of Hell agree with Annika and recall Janica was in the pool raising a toast towards them and winking her eye when they were walking down the path of sharp gravel stones last night when Annika was crying.

Sebastian tried to make Annika realize the Janica he knows is actually a nice and emphatic person. She just takes the role-play tasks seriously but they're not her true self. He also gave a fairly long pep talk, making a strong wish that Annika would need to try and talk to Janica so they could resolve their issues and get on as friends. It remains to be seen if Sebastian's efforts will have any effect on Annika. (Truth be told, the blame is not on Annika alone: Janica has some strange antipathy towards Annika as well and she has been talking behind Annika's back, too.)

Annika and Mikael are enjoying each others' company in Hell:

(Aww... they haven't been allowed to take a shower for about 48 hours now... and as is the duty of the residents of Hell, they have been constantly applying and reapplying massage oil on their skin and smudging themselves with coal.)

Sebastian and Annika have talked a bit more about Janica. (Earlier, they had a discussion in which Sebastian blamed Annika about constantly badmouthing Janica while she's not present and told her to discuss things through with Janica.)

Annika says she's not happy with the situation - really isn't - but she has found Janica distant. Janica hasn't really annoyed her other than during the beehive task and now when she's in Heaven, but Annika admits that if people talk about Janica, she might participate in the discussion and even continue it. Maybe she should tone down that a bit.

Annika tells she actually did have a couple of better days with Janica during the Copper Mine task. She was nice, then, but then just slipped away and became more distant again. Annika has not wanted to push her company to Janica if it's not wanted. And the only reason Janica has ever given to Annika which might have anything to do with this situation is that Janica was close to Mikael during the first week or so - before Mikael and Annika started spending time together. Annika doesn't have anything against Mikael spending some time with Janica, too, as long as it's not something couples would do.

Sebastian tells Annika he knows Annika does not enjoy it. He never claimed Annika would have been enjoying it.

Meanwhile, the people of Heaven got music, jacuzzi and sauna. Suvi and Janica weren't in party mood, but they danced and drank a bit nonetheless. Curiously, Big Brother assigned Ben to keep company to the residents of Heaven, costumed as the Devil. As the Devil, Ben was supposed to serve them in all ways - open doors for them, get their drinks for them, etc. At the same time he was executing a secret task where he needed to steal food from Heaven and bring it to Hell.

Later during the night, Ben the Devil started behaving in an odd way in Hell. He was patting and tapping the residents of Hell annoyingly with his pitchfork while they were trying to get some sleep and occasionally getting at their cigarette stash and ripping some their cigarettes in two pieces. He was also giving various orders to the residents of Hell. For example, Sebastian, who was trying to sleep in the dark hellhole they have, was ordered to stand up and Ben then let him go back lying down again. Then he needed to stand up again, and Ben let him go back to the floor again. He also appared to threaten Salar with the bucket of massage oil they have in Hell. The residents of Hell weren't quite sure if Ben was doing this because he was told to or if he had come up with some strange ideas himself. They also weren't sure if they were actually required to follow his orders or not. Finally, when everyone was sleeping, Ben was called to the diary room and came back without the devil's costume, lied down on the floor and started sleeping himself.

Tonight (19:00 [url)http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=101]Finnish time[/url]) on BB Extra: during the broadcast, the viewers will get to see live video feed from the diary room where "a big secret" will be revealed to one of the housemates. (There are no further details available on what the secret might be. Maybe Mikael will now hear he's the one who won the immunity until the final week?)

24/7 subscribers can view the BB Extra show live over Internet as it is broadcast on TV. The live feed is avaiblable on Katsomo.fi website by following these instructions.  (Since the archived BB Extra shows are also available for free viewing via the bigbrother.fi website, maybe you can watch the live broadcast for free there as well... I'm not sure about that, I've only ever tried watching the live shows over the Internet by logging in to Katsomo.fi. At least the show will appear on the free site later today after it has been broadcast.)

The residents of Hell have been shown a diary room video clip where Janica holds Annika responsible for the sin of Envy (as per their weekly task, which started with everyone assigning the seven deadly sins to suitable fellow housemates.) Her grounds for naming Annika as the one with the sin of Envy was related to how Annika had been jealous of Mikael.

Sebastian has had a talk with Janica about whether she feels sympathy towards the less fortunate housemates in midst of a role-playing task or not.. since Janica has been blamed by some housemates of being a bit too happy and enjoying herself a bit too much about the privileges the residents of Heaven have: even jeering at the residents of Hell, if not in words, by using gestures and facial expressions. Janica didn't want to answer the question now that the task is still ongoing but Sebastian wants to hear her answer later.

Some half an hour ago, the residents of Hell were taking a nap when they were woken up by the residents of Heaven and called to the Platform of Hades (using their gravel path, of course). Suvi had been instructed to order Amanda (who had the sin of Sloth) to clean up the entire house: do the dishes, vacuum the floor, wash the mirrors, wipe the tables, arrange things and furniture in their place, everything. When they were going to get some cleaning supplies, the storage room door opened and the residents of Heaven also got a basket full of alcoholic drinks and snacks which they may enjoy while watching Amanda's cleaning.

Amanda is only wearing bikinis and she's oiled up from head to toes with massage oil and smudged with coal, as is the fate and duty of the residents of Hell. Just like all the other residents of Hell, she hasn't taken a shower since Monday morning.

Sebastian is called to the Hell's diary room. The residents of Hell can hear him shouting through the doors. He soon comes back with a large tray full of hamburgers and salads. Sebastian, who is accused of the sin of Gluttony, has to serve the abundant number of burgers to the residents of Heaven. He, or anyone else in Hell, can't have any for himself. There are several Hesburger Megaburgers on the tray as well, Sebastian's favorite type of burger (This must be BB's personal jab at Sebastian, since he's been dreaming of getting some of those in the house earlier.) Now he can only smell them, not eat. The other residents of Hell are not pleased, either. Especially Annika thinks this is... well... pure hell! Ben looks like a hurt puppy, just on the brink of breaking in tears.

Sebastian was just told a secret in the diary room, during the live BB Extra broadcast: the weekly task, Heaven & Hell, will continue throughout the weekend to the next week. He can't reveal this to anyone. (It seems this diary room visit was shown on DC2 in the live feeds as well.)

Not very happy with this secret, whilst this has been a good task, they will ruin it by dragging it out too long. There have been too many 24/7 tasks this year. What is needed is for a few weeks where they can just live normally in the house. They only need 2 or 3 tasks per season that disrupt life in the house 24/7 - not one every week.

I agree with all that. I would hope for some "normalcy" (whatever that means in this context) to the house for a change. I'd like a task which would only take 6 to 8 hours per day and didn't require them to stay awake all night or guard anything, or work in shifts, and wasn't based on forced inequality but rather on cooperation among all housemates. Something where everyone works for a common goal during the day and can then relax a bit and socialize on their "free time" at evenings/nights without needing to think about the task all the time. There could be separate daily evening tasks (something light and fun that doesn't take too long and isn't too exhausting mentally or physically) during the week to break the dullness, of course.

You said you didn't watch
BBF5
(see
here
and
here
, too... and click on the "CC" button for English subtitles) or
BBF6
. Those seasons weren't nearly as harsh, twisted, or "demanding" as this one, in my opinion, and they had more parties which were just parties for the sake of having a party... with music and all! (Which BB seems to use sparingly this season.) Then again, many BB fans thought many of the tasks weren't too interesting in BBF5 and BBF6, and many of the housemates back in those seasons were maybe a bit too young and airheaded happy-go-lucky types to begin with. But the general mood was definitely lighter and more positive than what we've seen this season... so far.

BBF6 included a couple of housemates from the earlier seasons as intruders and one of them even won the whole thing, which was a bit of a downer. When those old housemates entered the house it kind of changed the setup for the whole season and made it disfavorable for the original housemates. BBF6 also featured as many as three stupid "disappearances" of the original housemates: two were forcibly ejected because of a breach of rules and one took the 24 hours option and quit.

Then again, I quite liked the latter part of that season. There were two great female housemates in BBF6,
Elisabet and Marika
, - the redheads of the house - who were both "living on the moment" kind of people: sincere with their feelings and reactions, with no penchant for scheming or playing games. They both started getting more visibility and growing in importance somewhere around the midpoint of the season. (Here's
a bit more of Elisabet
. What's a little freezing sleet shower to a
true Michael Jackson fan
? Nothing, I guess.) There was also a great exchange week with Celebrity Big Brother Slovenia where the Finnish housemates needed to lie about Finland to the Slovene exchange housemate, Sandra, all the time. (They invented alternative history and culture for the country, came up with false legends and
ridiculous strange customs
which they needed to follow through and perform themselves the entire week, etc.... and the poor exchange housemate bought it all. At the end of the week, she was very shocked and disappointed to find out the strange fake "Finland" she had believed in and taught about and lived in didn't really exist... Fortunately, she soon recovered from the initial disappointment about the mindfuck she had been subjected to and could then laugh about the whole thing.)

The exchange week in BBF5 was pretty nice as well. There are a lot of video clips of that on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/user/mikaoonake#g/u
http://www.youtube.com/user/kitek09#g/u
http://www.youtube.com/user/The1Finland1#g/u

(I mean the clips which have "Cathy" in their title. Cathy is the name of the Filipino exchange housemate who visited the BBF5 house. You may want to press the "Load more" button a couple of times to see all the clips. Or try the "Date added" link to change the ordering of the clips so that they will appear in chronological order and maybe show up sooner on the list. Actually, there's enough material on Youtube about this exchange you can pretty much watch it in its entirety, from the beginning when she enters the house via the Talk Show studio to the end when she leaves the house. And the clips are numbered in chronological order, too.)

This season, it has been a bit hard to pick a true favorite among the housemates. Scheming - which they allowed from the get-go for the first time ever - and the surprising number of couples that have formed have strained the personal relationships and social dynamics between the housemates in a way that maybe wasn't present in earlier seasons... but I think the atmosphere is still far better than in BBF4 where it was really tense at times.

---

As for the current events in the BBF house, the residents of Heaven were ordered to go outside in the yard. Meanwhile, the residents of Hell were allowed to take a shower and change into clean bikinis/boxers, but they then needed to paint themselves with black body paint. (Or is that liquid latex?) Currently, there's a SingStar karaoke party going on. The residents of Hell need to hold up the microphone for the residents of Heaven who are singing. (Or "singing".)

One of the more popular choices for a karaoke song among the housemates appears to be Jenni Vartiainen's "
Ihmisten edessä
" ("In Front of People"). Another favorite of the housemates is "
Häissä
" ("In the Wedding") by Jare & VilleGalle. One of the songs played is "
Sama nainen
" ("The Same Woman") by Chisu.

Edit: Salar, who has been pumping the Device of Purgatory so that the residents of Heaven can have their karaoke party, is apparently not feeling too well: he was about to faint. He is in the diary room now.

Salar came back from the diary room, he's apparently in a good enough condition to join the other residents of Hell again. Or maybe not:

"Angelic" Janica has been drinking all night and she's totally plastered. She can't even recall the instructions she got in the diary room regarding the karaoke party. The other housemates are trying to suggest she might want to go to sleep, but she doesn't want to. She's still in a good mood, though.

Nightly drama:

Stefan and Veera are singing karaoke in the living room. This means Tanja (from Hell) has to act as their microphone stand and two residents of hell (Mikael and Salar) must pump the Device of Purgatory.

Terhi and Janica emerge from the diary room. As they come out and put their microphones on, Terhi has an embarrassed, uneasy smile on her face. She mutters she's never going to go there again or make a wish about anything anymore.

Turns out Terhi and Janica had been trying to get some sleep in the bedroom. But since Stefan and Veera were singing karaoke in the living room, they weren't able to, because of the noise. So they went to the diary room and made a wish on getting some "angelic" background music in the bedroom, to mask the noise - similar to what BB had played in the Heavenly bedroom before. Or if they can't get that, they'd like to have earplugs at least.

BB granted the residents of Heaven their wish. The price for this, however, was that they were ordered to choose two residents of Hell to walk the gravel path end to end, all the way from the Gate of Hell (spare room door) to the Place of Harm (smoking cage in the yard) and back, until further notice from BB.

Janica picked Salar and Annika for this task.

So... Terhi and Janica went to the Gate of Hell and summoned Mikael, who was told he needs to wake up Annika and Salar.

Annika didn't take this in a good way. Janica had been tormenting and humiliating her in a similar way in the past, during the "Bee Hive" weekly task when Janica was in the role of the Queen Bee and when she was allowed to give orders to the other housemates for her own entertainment.

Annika: "What the fuck is wrong with that woman?"

Annika did one round with Salar, walking all the way to the Place of Harm and back. She then started crying from the pain in her feet, the coldness outside, frustration, and humiliation, but she still turned back and began walking the second round. It was clearly difficult for her and she was sobbing. Veera (who is a resident of Heaven and shouldn't mingle with residents of Hell or pay attention to their suffering) came to accompany her and opened the patio door for her, even followed her to the patio.

Halfway to the Place of Harm, Mikael turned up and told Annika that Salar had already given up. Mikael then tried to lift Annika on his arms and carry her back to Hell so she wouldn't need to walk on the gravel path any longer, but Annika resisted; she didn't want the weekly task to fail because of her. Mikael stopped her anyway and told it doesn't matter now, he and Sebastian will take Salar's and Annika's place. Veera gave Annika a long hug and put her coat on her. She said she's probably going to get a punishment from this - for helping or consoling the residents of Hell and giving them non-approved clothing - but she doesn't care anymore. If they've failed the task they've failed it and there's nothing they can do about it.

After Annika had returned inside the house, the residents of Heaven noted that Mikael and Sebastian doing the walk is probably not going to cut it as they weren't the housemates who were originally ordered to do the task. The guys don't care: they're adamant they're going to do it anyway on behalf of Salar and Annika.

After a while, Stefan returns from the diary room and announces that the party is over. Mikael, Sebastian and Tanja can all go to Hell (to get some sleep). Stefan and Veera must pour all unfinished drinks to the kitchen sink and take the unopened bottles and cans to the storage room.

After all residents of Hell are back in there, they have a lively discussion on personal limits and how there's a line for each person they can't cross. This was too much, there's no sense in doing something like this. Tanja explained the chain reaction of events to all of them and confirmed it was Janica who chose Annika and Salar for the task. Annika is sad because she could have continued a while longer but was stopped. Mikael said he couldn't bear to watch it any longer, and Salar had already quit doing it. Salar says if there's someone to blame it's himself because he just couldn't do it.

Meanwhile in Heaven, Veera and Stefan are having a similar discussion. Stefan tells he went to the diary room to pull the emergency brake. The train was moving too fast for them. The weekly task will go on nonetheless. Veera is crying a bit and says she may have ruined it for them already by taking Annika off the gravel track and giving her the coat. She even hugged her for a long time even though she was not supposed to do such thing as a resident of Heaven. She believes she's going to be evicted next as everyone will blame her for it.

Eventually, everyone goes to sleep. But it's quite clear Janica didn't earn any good will for herself by making the choice she made (if it's true she could have chosen anyone but deliberately went for Annika and Salar, the two housemates who were the least likely to be up for the challenge and when everyone knows she doesn't particularly like Annika) and it can be said with almost 100% certainty she will be one of the nominees in the next eviction.

Edit: I added some links to video clips in a previous post.

Mikael, Annika and Tanja have been assigned a secret task. They got hamburgers in Hell's diary room and they now need to walk down the gravel path from end to end, back and forth, and feign suffering to all the other housemates.

The other housemates - both in Heaven and Hell - have been asking them why they're doing that. They think it's a punishment of some sort. There is increasing talk in the house about deliberately failing the task. The viewers have been informed that if the housemates actually try to abort the weekly task early, those in breach of the house rules will be threatened with forced eviction.

Janica has been feeling down all day. She thinks everyone in Hell hates her and they're going to nominate her and she'll be evicted on Sunday unless she wins the lifeline competition (a form of Power of Veto). Sebastian has given her a serious talk about lack of (displaying) empathy and Terhi has also criticized her decision yesterday when she chose Annika and Salar for walking down the gravel path in the middle of the night while she knew they were the weakest housemates for that task and most likely to fail in it.

During the weekly task, Residents of Hell have been ordered to do various other tasks than just pumping the Device of Purgatory or walking or crawling the gravel path. For example, Big Brother has required them to count a bowl of peas... and then recount them... and recount them again... endlessly. A couple of days into the task they also got a microwave oven which they have only been allowed to use for warming up microwave snacks for the residents of Heaven (so they get to see and smell them) while their own dishes have been either something disgusting (food spoiled with strange spices) or very basic (cabbage heads, carrots, tasteless porridge with no sugar or salt, blood pancakes, etc.)

Now, they were warming up microwave dishes again - small savory pies for the residents of Heaven - and had a basket full of them when Mikael suddenly told them to stop, close the door and remain silent. He then announced the residents of Hell that himself, Annika and Tanja had been carrying out a secret task today where they were required to feign suffering while strolling the coarse gravel path. And now all the residents of Hell are included in another secret task: they begin getting conveniences in Hell but they aren't allowed to reveal anything about this to the residents of Heaven. They no longer need to count the peas. They no longer need to pump the Device of Purgatory, except for when the door is open and the residents of Heaven can see them. And last but not least, they can eat the pies they just warmed up themselves.

The residents of Hell rejoice and start eagerly eating the pies. Especially Sebastian, Ben and Salar are thrilled to get some proper food first time in several days.

Tanja's, Mikael's and Annika's secret task will still continue, but they need to take it easier for a while now. Mikael reminds all the residents of Hell to keep their mouth shut about everything he has said and hide everything they will get from plain view so the residents of Heaven will remain in the belief they're still having horrible conditions in Hell.

Mikael explains they will get things such as food, soda and blankets. They can also take showers and get hot water in the shower. The residents of Hell are slowly figuring out the task will probably continue further than just tomorrow. But even if it will, it's not going to bother them any longer... if they're only going to get these things at their disposal.

Mikael: "The tables have now turned."
Amanda (smiling, referring to the residents of Heaven): "Yeah. It's no longer us who are suffering, it's them."
Mikael: "They're now in Hell."

(During the night, the residents of Heaven have been increasingly worried about the residents of Hell and the harsh conditions they need to endure. Veera has cried a bit in compassion - even though they should only think about enjoyable things - and Suvi has also been quite serious.)

It's quite possible the HellMates will also get alcohol at some point, if they succeed to bluff the HeavenMates long enough. This would go in par with BB making these secret tasks increasingly more difficult.

The residents of Hell have visited the diary room one by one, to give their nomination points.

This season is only halfway through but BB blogger Telo Paloniemi, who has connections to the Finnish Big Brother production, has been dropping some subtle hints we are about to see "something never before seen or experienced on Finnish BB" in the final week.

The residents of Hell, who now have a secret task (as described in the earlier posts), have continued feigning suffering in front of the residents of Heaven. Their weapon of choice has been humiliating punishments devised by themselves. For example, they planned and executed a show where Annika was supposedly required to walk to the outdoor smoking cage and stand directly under the permanently running cold shower while four other housemates take turns and smoke. Annika was acting well, it looked like she really was in agony. The residents of Heaven watched this all with very serious faces. Suvi was crying a bit. Stefan tossed his crutches on the floor (he has a strained ankle and has seen a physician), walked to the bedroom so he doesn't need to watch, pulled the beanie hat on his eyes, and breathed heavily.

As the residents of Hell got back into their room and closed the doors, they were all laughing and congratulating each other.

Another show they did a bit later was Mikael and Ben coming out of Hell and rolling sideways on the gravel path. Again, the residents of Heaven were watching this with very serious faces. Veera began weeping. Suvi and Terhi said it's too much for them, they can't bear to watch it any longer. They're shouting if the residents of Hell aren't going to abort the weekly task, they're going to go to the diary room and do it themselves.

The housemates up for eviction this week are Stefan, Terhi, Tanja, Janica and Annika. They're currently doing the lifeline competition where they're required to dance to music for a certain time while wearing a pedometer on their belt. The nominee who gets the highest step count will be the winner.

Edit: Terhi won. She can now exchange either herself or another nominee to a housemate who originally wasn't up for eviction.

There were technical problems during Annika's performance. She accidentally reset the step counter while trying to readjust the position of the pedometer on her belt while dancing (it was about to fall off.) Annika got another try. Alas, the counter was reset this time, too - apparently because the reset button touched her body when she was shaking her hips vigorously. Annika is a bit disappointed since she danced well.

Edit #2: Terhi saved herself and exchanged Amanda in her place. The housemates up for eviction this week are Stefan, Amanda, Tanja, Janica and Annika.

Residents of Hell have done another dramatic performance where they made the residents of Heaven believe Mikael would have been out of the BB house for almost two hours because he supposedly required medical attention due to the harsh conditions in Hell (sleep deprivation, lack of edible food, exhaustion). They also performed a dramatic argument in front of the residents of Heaven where some of the residents of Hell were supporting aborting the task and the others were against that and supported carrying on with the task. There was lots of shouting back and forth and then they all went back to Hell, closing the door behind them and leaving the residents of Heaven to discuss the tense situation.

In reality, Mikael hid in the corner of the spare room where you can't see him directly from the doorway to Hell and it was all an act. Some time later Mikael "returned" to the house, supposedly via Hell's private diary room, and with an adhesive bandage on his arm... He acted as if he had received some medical attention but couldn't talk about what had happened. The residents of Heaven bought it all.

Behind the closed doors, residents of Hell have received hamburgers and pizza from Big Brother as a reward for their various little performances throughout the day. They also got pillows and duvets for the night, again.

Viewers have been informed that if a resident of Hell will be evicted on Sunday (Amanda, Annika and Tanja are all up for eviction from Hell, Janica and Stefan from Heaven) they have to leave the house in their Hellish looks: wearing only bikinis and messy, black bodypaint.

Residents of Hell woke up to a new morning with Venom's "
Straight to Hell
". They also received a breakfast basket in the diary room. (Proper breakfast, as they're now all carrying out a secret task and no longer suffering for real.)

Residents of Heaven got Eric Clapton's "Tears in Heaven (Embedding disabled, limit reached)".

Residents of Hell lied to Residents of Heaven that Sebastian - who was accused of the Sin of Gluttony - is no longer allowed to eat.

Pandora's Box will be opened the second time in this season today. The viewers have not yet been told when, exactly. Last time this happened at about 18:00 (6 p.m.) Finnish time.

The options of Pandora's Box today:

Good for oneself / bad for everyone else

The winning HM will choose one HM to join him/her to enjoy a movie of their choice. They will also have a delicious catering. And of course the two will spend their night inside.

Meanwhile all other HMs will spend their night standing on the patio/terrace wearing cardboard boxes. Additionally they will have to throw a ball, that gives electric shocks randomly, all night long.

Bad for oneself / good for everyone else

The first option reversed. Ie. the winner with their choice of company will spend the night outside throwing the ball. And everyone else will get the movie night.

Pandora's Box was opened by Annika. She chose the "Bad for oneself / good for everyone else" option. She also had to choose someone to throw the electrically shocking ball with her. Sebastian was her choice because Sebastian has said he doesn't mind (physically) challenging or demanding tasks and will likely be able to endure it. Sebastian didn't mind and he was glad the others got the movie night since there had been a bit of drama earlier. (See below for more about that.)

In my opinion, both consequences were a bit... meh!

But we had quite a bit drama today:

Earlier today, residents of Hell did yet another fake performance of suffering. This time, they took a tin bucket half full of coal to the yard, on the gravel path, near the smoking cage, and lied to the residents of Heaven that someone had complained it being cold in Hell and Big Brother had ordered them to take the bucket of coal outside and fetch the pieces of coal from the bucket one by one while walking the gravel path barefoot. They also performed a couple of intense fake arguments on aborting the task (or not aborting it) in front of the residents of Heaven:

14:10 Suvi, who is a resident of Heaven, is sure BB actually wants someone to try and abort the task. Amanda is pretending she wants to continue carrying it out no matter what. Salar has already "given up" (he's going by the "script" they devised before coming out of Hell) and just squats in front of Hell's Gate, at the beginning of the gravel path, and keeps complaining about the others who are still walking along the path and carrying the bits of coal. They're having an argument while the residents of Heaven are watching but it's all an act:

Amanda: "If this doesn't stop tomorrow, we will all give up then."
Salar: "Tomorrow? Again? Are you for real?! You keep saying that every day!"
Amanda: "Yeah, but we can--"
Sebastian: "How much longer can you keep saying we'll gonna give up 'tomorrow'!?"
Amanda: "We'll give up by tomorrow noon if this doesn't end before that!"
Salar: "Yeah, right..."
Tanja: "We've gone this far, we're not going to give up now, guys."
Salar: "Says Tanja. You were allowed to take a shower, you didn't need to smear this shit on your skin, you can sleep at nights..." (Tanja actually had an allergic reaction earlier so she was allowed to take a shower and doesn't need to paint herself with the body paint.)
Tanja (feigning angriness): "Just keep your fucking mouth shut 'coz you're not even doing anything useful there!" (throws Salar angrily with a bit of coal) "Stuff that in it for all I care!"

A bit later Mikael emerges from Hell's diary room wearing a skirt made of leafy birch twigs. He was supposedly ordered to wear it because he's allergic to birch trees. (Or so he says.) He starts sneezing, or faking sneezes, while walking down the gravel path. The residents of Heaven are watching his torment.

Some fifteen minutes later Suvi has had enough of the show. She can't understand how the residents of Hell willingly continue their torment and do not allow the weaker housemates, who in her opinion are clearly suffering, to abort the task. And she's a resident of Heaven, so she's not faking it:

Suvi: "Can't you people see what you're doing to each other? I'll take the punishment, here, have something to eat!"

She takes a basket full of pancakes from the kitchen of Heaven, marches into Hell and tosses the basket on the floor, telling the residents of Hell to eat. She also rips off her "angelic" toga. Suvi has now aborted the task, in her opinion, as she wasn't supposed to hand over food to the residents of Hell or stop wearing the toga.

Residents of Hell get a bit scared at her reaction, try to calm her down and eventually retreat to their hellhole and close the two soundproof doors behind them to discuss the events. They're beginning to think they have gone too far, and they're talking about the Stanford prison experiment, and comparing their situation to that. Especially Sebastian is of the opinion he isn't going to go any further with this task: it's morally wrong, and he has already gone too far. The other residents of Hell are also beginning to see his viewpoint. They're planning they'll need to tone down things now. They will no longer do any fake shows, just rot in Hell and maybe go out for a smoke but nothing more. The benefits they've received from faking suffering - such as proper food and blankets - are not worth it if the residents of Heaven are in emotional distress, crying, breaking down etc. because of them.

Meanwhile, Suvi has gone to Heaven's diary room to discuss her feelings. When she comes back, she calls everyone to hear what she was told. She tells the other housemates, who have gathered around her, that she went in the diary room and tried aborting the task, to make it official. But she was told if anyone tries to abort the task for real, they will be evicted, and that's nonnegotiable.

All the other housemates from both Heaven and Hell are now saying she can't do that, and they don't want her to do that. She then reluctantly puts her toga back on again and carries on as if the incident hadn't happened.

The current situation is a bit of a stalemate. The residents of Heaven are certainly not enjoying their privileges any longer. The residents of Hell are unsure of what will happen next: maybe they'll be put back on their former diet or maybe they'll get punishments for not carrying out the secret task any longer. But they're adamant they're not going to fake any suffering any more.

It remains to be seen what will happen during the movie night which the housemates got from Pandora's Box and during Annika's and Sebastian's all-night ball-bouncing consequence, but otherwise it looks like a quiet, uneventful, low-key Saturday night in the house.

Pretty much everybody - including the viewers - wishes this drawn-out weekly task would already come to its end but according to the information released earlier during the week, it will continue at least till Monday.

And of course they are standing in the boxes. Grammar in the Finnish language is funny in the way, that there sometimes is room for interpretation. Which in my mind was the case here. I automatically assumed, they would wear the boxes. Such has the nature of the weekly task been.

Yeah, they're standing in small cardboard boxes and throwing the ball back and forth. This far, it hasn't given them a single shock. They've been wondering about that: maybe it's not working or something. While tossing and catching the ball, Annika and Sebastian have had a good discussion going on on numerous things, though. If either of them drops the ball, the one who dropped it needs to do 40 jumps so that they will squat, bend forward and touch the patio with their fingertips between each of them.

Meanwhile in Hell: The movie night has ended and the hellmates have received a basket full of alcoholic drinks in Hell's diary room. They're supposed to drink in secrecy. I'm not sure where's the challenge here, though, if they can keep the two sound-proof doors closed.

I think that Mikael should have been announced as a nominee and allowed to take part in the lifeline competition, even though ultimately he wouldn't take part in the public vote. Tanja should not have been one of the nominees.

And again Salar gets zero points. How can this nasty person keep getting no nominations? Even after BB played videos of him which upset the girls they still don't nominate him.
