It seems Ukraine's doing quite an effort with their BB series! Their logo's cool!
what? its bascially some of the UKs former eyes mixed together with the recent one  8)
I have no problem with countries adapting the looks of other versions though.
the homepage featuring so many HMs from other countries seasons of the glory days (like the cast of BB Germany 1) makes me miss those times so much when BB was still my most favourite show and the bad guys were voted out whenever they were up without any intereference by the producers

The official website:
http://big-brother.com.ua

And the logo:

Well... it's different :)

Nice logo. I wonder why BB Philippines rarely used the eye logo. It was only used in seasons 1 and 3 regular editions.

The only issues with that is that China/Taiwan/Vietnam would refuse to even consider airing BB on TV, Malaysia/KZ wouldn't be able to afford it, and Georgia/Turkey have already had shows that are essential clones of BB. I could definitely see Japan or South Korea trying it at some point though.

The public are being given the chance to vote in 2 housemates. They are given the choice of 2 males and 2 female. I think one male and one female will be voted in. Voting closes on 25th September, so they won't be entering until next weekend.

The potential housemates are -

Spartak Sergiyenko (currently has 170 votes)
Age 25

Kovtun Nicolas (currently has 164 votes)
Age 26

Marina Družbinskaâ (currently has 59 votes)
Age 24

Julia Malanova (currently has 134 votes)
Age 25

You can see their audition videos at the official website - http://big-brother.com.ua/

I did say in my previous post that launch date was Tuesday 20th, but I've looked at the countdown again and it says 3 days still so obviously it does't work.

Looking at TV listings it appears the show launches tomorrow Monday - http://www.k1.ua/uk/tv/2011/09/19

Wouldn't mind either of the girls going in and as mentioned by Danny, I don't want Spartak to enter.

Isn't their more than one dialect in the Ukraine? Is that why they're almost all from the same region?

I'm not sure about that, but in Fabrika Zirok (Star Academy) only 2 contestants are from Kiev, and there are contestants from all over the country  ???

BTW, this is the 200th main season in the world  ;D

I think Secret Story Portugal may have been the 200th main edition. It depends which of the 2 launched later, but as Ukraine is in an earlier time zone, Ukriane may have launched before Portugal and is therefore the 199th edition.

I realised when I was translating the 7 housemates that I probably got the 4 candidates wrong the previous day as in Ukraine they list the forename after the surname.

BB1 Ukraine: 8.00 pm
SS6 Portugal: 9.35 pm

The difference between Ukraine and Portugal is 2 hours, this means that when BB1 Ukraine started, it was 6 pm in Portugal (more than 3 hours to the launch in the country).

I think we all thought it was going to start on Monday, but then someone uploaded the launch show to youtube on the 18th so it must have launched Sunday.

On the subject of if the house is in Poland or not. If anyone has seen the launch show, do the housemates go from the studio into the house or are they already in the house? I wouldn't have thought they would have the studio in Poland as the audience wouldn't understand Ukrainian.
